Just seen the United line up for this afternoon and admit to being baffled.

Dalot, who was absolutely dreadful midweek, apparently at left back with Reguilon on the bench. Varane on the bench with Maguire and Evans staring.

Given the ease with which the team are conceding goals at the minute, either Reguilon and Varane are not fully fit, or ETH has just published a suicide note rather than a team sheet.

And the total absence of Rashford from the squad more than hints that there are now some serious issues behind the scenes. Not that there can be much doubt given performances this season.

EDIT: Rashford is injured. Allegedly.

My squirrels seem to be playing hide and seek ............................. I can't find them, but maybe they won't be needed!

And?

Was he out of his tree fighting? I think it’s pathetic. He isn’t a monk, nor is he on-call for the emergency services. Ten Hag even commented that Rashford turned up for training on time and performed fine.

Sometimes, I feel there are unrealistic expectations placed on those in the public eye. If he’d got drunk, started a fight etc, fine, give him hell. But the ability to compartmentalise and de-stress is important for top performers going into their next match.

Each to their own. Personally, I think everyone has the right to go out and enjoy their birthday in whatever way they want, within the bounds of good behaviour.
OK. I've never played at elite level, where I play for millions of fans. I suspect none of us have.

What strikes me is that when you look at the best, most successful players, they may like winning, but their main emotion is they despise losing. If they lose, it doesn't just bother them like losing a round of golf in a fiddle. It eats them alive, and no way they'd go out celebrating anything. They'd be angry for days, and absolutely determined to get to the next game and put things right.

With Utd players, just don't get that. Turn up for 90 minutes a couple if times a week, turn up for a bit of training, put shocking displays in, etc. But who cares, they're off clubbing in the evening to cheer them up.

If they were winning every week, fair do.

4 minutes and then they get the ref to decide

It just sucks the life out of football. And it’s overdue an on field referee had the balls to say to the VAR that they’re wrong. I’ve only ever seen it once.

I’d say that was a shocker whoever the decision went against.

Three and a half minutes for VAR to make a decision ............................. I didn't realise it was that clear and obvious.

On the day when Leeds United’s relegation was sealed last year, if a player or group of players had gone out clubbing that night and been pictured letting their hair down and having a good time, how would you have felt about it? Serious question.

Personally, I wasn’t aware of Rashford’s birthday celebrations until I went online this morning. I’m not going to get in a lather about it, but neither do I think it reflects particularly well. It could open player and club to suggestions that their minds are not on the job, so part of me understands why there is a little discord about it.
If we ignore the difference between losing a game and getting relegated. I honestly wouldn’t be bothered.
I enjoy supporting my team and watching football. But it doesn’t consume me like it does a lot of people.
