There's a lad in my weekly kickabout who's a bit like Rashford. His touch often lets him down, his decision-making is awful, passes when he should shoot, shoots when he should pass. Nobody wants him on their team because he's so frustrating. But he still scores a goal or two most weeks because he has a stepover and a powerful shot in the locker, so like a broken clock that's right twice a day, he will find the net at some point. And I'm sure he goes home with his head held high thinking he's a great player because he scored again.
Everyone has a player like that in their weekly kickabout :ROFLMAO: .

Yes but is that good enough for UTD and England?
Thinking about it apart from Grealish who else would play there.
I think Watkins from Villa could adapt his game to play there.
Well, clearly the answer is yes, as he is in both teams. Sure, lack of consistency is a huge weakness. But, if Rashford was able to consistently put in those powerful attacking displays, he'd be called Mbappe. And not many nations have an Mbappe.

I think England are blessed in that area anyway. Despite Rashford's lack of form, he can still offer something different. Him and Grealish are 2 very different attacking weapons, and give defenders massively different challenges. Not sure why you'd want to try Watkins in that position at all, as he seems to be Kane's backup striker. You've got Foden who is class and can play out on the left, and probably shouldn't forget Sterling who has looked sharp this season. Even Harvey Barnes plays out there, fitness depending. England have a lot of depth out there, so no need to turn strikers into wingers.

Main thinking was Watkins is fast and very direct and a great finisher. (Just thinking out loud if Gerrard can play there!)
Pep has made Grealish to safe to many backward passes.

Kane wants to be a midfielder he’s so deep to much ,hardly ever in the box. ( maybe why Rashford has no forward pass as there is nobody ahead of him)

But if your playing inconsistently how do you get in the international side when Foden is warming the bench.?

I think Foden is wasted when stuck out on the left so I wouldn't class him as competing for the same spot. He needs to have free reign to roam around, mainly in the middle. There are other options thankfully, as quoted above. Ideally, we get Grealish back to past form and point him forwards, not backwards.

I don't think Harry Kane wants to be a midfielder at all, but that sort of thing has been thrown at him for years. He is just that type of forward, who is brilliant at also coming deep and getting involved in the build up. In fact, it could be a great reason why Rashford could work well in the England side. Who cares about Rashford having a forward pass, think more about Kane dropping deep and then playing a through ball to the speedy Rashford on the left or Saka on the right. They then either go through on goal, or attack the wing and then play it back to Kane arriving at the edge of the box.

If he wants to be a midfielder, he has done well to score 9 league goals in 8 appearances for Bayern, and if memory serves me correct, he has been prolific before he went to Bayern.

At any rate, I don't believe Rashford has been a regular starter for England anyway. And that will be because he is inconsistent. So he is probably only being used where the manager thinks he is likely to be a bigger threat.

Yes all sound arguments.
I guess ETH and GS know a bit more than us.

Yes I would have Foden first as a #10.
we should be building a team around him and Bellingham for the future!

He was a nice guy and undeniably blue through and through. But they’re not always the qualities you need in a chairman. It’s sad he’s gone. It’s also sad he’s left the club a worse place than he found it. But he gave it a go and deserved better from those around him. All a bit of a shame really.
He didn't Moshiri has left it in a worse place. The reality is Moshiri was and is a liability, took no notice of anyone and screwed the pooch for us. I don't blame Kenwright at all. I mean he bought in a billionaire as requested but who knew he would be such a liability. The thing is, he should have quit in disgust but he loved us so much he couldn't do that.

Just randomly thought that it really seems weird David De Gea has not signed for another club yet. Surely one half decent club out there would have been willing to sign him on a free, even if it wasn't a Saudi Club.

All I can think is are his wage demands too high?
Or was he hoping a top team come in for him & they didn’t?

I don’t mind admitting I have questioned MaguireS inclusion in the England team, but it is to do with Southgates decision that players should be playing football regular for there clubs and Maguire, and Phillips have not. And Henderson is playing in front of 700 fans and a dog. Southgate then says, yeah but Maguire does well for England.
Whether Maguire plays for Utd or Whoever. As an Englishman following England I want to see any of them batter any team they play against.
Personally I think Maguire is giving Ten Haag a massive headache. If Maguire keeps getting MOTM performances, he is going to be hard to drop when other players are fit. Watch this space on that one.
