that doesn’t seem to be the case for the multiple players that have gone there and still playing for their country - with most of the players still being called up.

Maguire has played 20 mins of football this season

Henderson has played the same amount of mins as most of the others in the squad and his level of play is not going to drop off in 4 games

Training with an indifferent Man Utd side will be much better at keeping a player's levels higher than playing in a farmers league. Training with Luton Town is probably better than playing in Saudi Arabia

I don't care about other players. I care who Gareth picks for England. I know you have a loyalty to the guy but his time in an England shirt should be history. He clearly has zero ambition anymore and was prepared to risk losing his place so that should be enough to ensure he does.

Nothing to do with loyalty to the player - the situation between Henderson and Maguire is vastly different. He clearly spoke to Southgate about England , there were no other clubs looking to buy him and he wasn’t going to play regularly for us anymore so he left - his football level isn’t going to drop that much in the space of 4 games and it will be about his match fitness levels - hasn’t turned into a poor player overnight because he had gone to the Saudi League

If his levels drop over the season and his fitness drops then he will start to phase out from the team.
