Chelsea have been playing up top when he's not a striker by any means. Arsenal plan to play him midfield (supposedly) which is his actual position. Should be a good move for him.
It looks like a Saudi fiddle to boost the cash to Chelsea except Arsenal have no Saudi involvement. If this was Newcastle / City and a.n. other club then people would ask questions as it makes no sense football / fee wise. I presume Arteta can see something that no one else can but at the moment it looks like great business from Chelsea.

I just find it weird that all I was seeing was "Rice is the priority" and they keep lowballing offers for him.. But then splash £65m on a dude who plays in a 10 role when they already have Odegaard

If we hadn't lost Gundogan I wouldn't be fussed about getting Rice but he really would be a good replacement...or at least close to being a good replacement...or at least potentially a good replacement...

I do think he's one of those whose work often goes unseen. Agree with the post above though and he is very annoying. Such a flipping drama queen. Always huffing and puffing like he's the only one putting a shift in. To be fair - not many fit to lace Gundogan's boots and I'm sure Pep can get the very best from Rice.
