I’m not sure that’s what Saudi are doing right now . They are getting players that clubs are looking to offload

I don’t think they have “pillaged” any top club as yet and it’s not far from what happened with the Chinese super league - they won’t get many players who actually want to play on the biggest stage

Totally unrealistic that they will keep buying names to build up then use their influence to get clubs in the champions league. Not seen them buy their way into any other sports recently. And, if course, no footballers would turn mercenary for a big contract. It could happen.

They aren’t going to be in the CL just as China when they did it weren’t going to be in the CL

It’s a UEFA competition and the clubs are not part of UEFA

They can get a few players at the end of the contracts towards the end of the careers and they will get the odd mid level player like Neves but the top players will still be going to the top clubs in European football

As with everything time will tell. UEFA not susceptable to changing things up for a boat load of cash, players willing to ignore massive amounts of money. We shall see.

I don't think it'll happen, but if Israel and Azerbaijan can qualify for the euros.....

So instead of Raya, a proven Premier League goalie, we're signing some guy called Vicario from Italy. Who? Shades of another Gollini - and I had to Google his name because I'd already forgotten it. Ugh, don't know why I expect any different.

Its a keeper though, not a striker, could be great?

Who'd heard of Raya before he went to Brentford?

Anyone who watched a Blackburn game?

Sure he might be good. Just not very enthralling to be linked with players you've never heard of. He's only had two top flight seasons by the looks of it. Playing for Empoli in lower-mid-table.

Big Ange signs weird players mate but they seem to pay off for him!

You cant break the bank in every position, maybe you're lining up moves elsewhere too?

Inter apparently had him as first choice to replace Onana - sort of understand your thinking though. If Raya is your number one GK target you get him whatever the cost

mmm...maybe the first signing of the summer on its way at Newcastle....AC Milan's midfielder Sandro Tonoli....not seen him play much but an Italian International.

Still not done yet but if we were still under Mike Ashleys guiding hand we would no doubt be signing Bruno Tonioli instead.

so looks like three going for Rice

City , Arsenal and Utd

Suspect there is only one winner there

I suspect there is only one winner as well, as I doubt he'd be able to sign for all 3 clubs :)

In all seriousness though, you were confident Bellingham was going to Liverpool, so I guess predictions can be taken with a pinch of salt.

He's probably been swayed by links to United and Spurs want to get a deal done.

Read this morning though that United are waiting on a new owner decision before making a signing... Which would be silly IMO

Not been keeping up with this thread too much in recent days, so apologies if this has already been said. But odd signing of the summer so far has to be Havertz to Arsenal for £65m.

Have they not seen him play in the Premier League?
