Gerrard signs as manager of Al-Ettifaq

You read that right…..

😂😂😂😂😂

So. He’s now employed by a mid table Saudi side which has no hope of competing. Yep. He’s really going to learn his managerial craft there.

What a farcical move. Just shows how truly lacking in genuine ambition he really is.

Plenty of Prem League clubs could afford that wage, it's only £250,000 a week.
Plenty of players already on more than that.
Sorry - it will be more than £1mil per week ( that he currently earns at PSG )

Very surprised he made that move and very poor choice but morally and football wise - suspect will be getting paid a lot and he doesn’t need the money. Disappointing

Do you not remember how badly that went??

I remember you making a CL final with a couple of the guys signed. Erikson being the standout obviously.

You're happy for him to walk away free next year then? Just don't understand that bit at all.... (unless he just signs a new deal, which he might, because Levy is pricing him out of a move in a window where people need strikers)

I'm happy to keep him as long as possible, yes. I don't care about the money, it's not my money. We don't spend it on anyone good anyway. I would rather see Kane in a Spurs shirt than the next nobody from the Dutch league that we're hoping will fill the void.

Anyone have any interest in the games this week? Would like to see a Netherlands v Italy final and then Italy to lose their fourth final of the season.

Plenty move to United and don't thrive though. Id have another pop at it in the prem before going abroad again
Exactly this, still a young player.
Sometimes, like in any job it just doesn’t work, maybe the manager just doesn’t fancy him, formation doesn’t suit, doesn’t enjoy living in Manchester.
To me it’s the whole collective that has to be right, get him in a good place mentally and physically and he will thrive.
A bit like what Pep has done at Manchester City 😂😂

It sounds as though Utd might sell. If you are Sancho, do you head back to Germany, clearly thrives there, or do you try again in the PL? Interesting one.
Asan Ho is an interesting one, Ave said it before but Foden was slated when Sancho went to Dortmund. Look at what Foden has in the cabinet compared to Sancho.
what I don’t get is managers could not get Sancho to replicate his Dor tune form. I thought Ten Haag would. Would not like Sancho to turn into another Sturridg.

He had the chance to stay at City, but he was greedy and demanded regular football. Pep let him go and we got 15% of the fee Utd paid Dortmund 😁👍 probably went towards Haalands left foot 👍

So a player gets slated for wanting to play?

I respect him a lot more than Scott (2 CLs) Carson.
