It “ was” widely speculated was what I answered!
That was my point he hasn’t been sold yet.

Depends if he actually wants to play for Liverpool.
I don’t want players who don’t want to play for the club.
It seems to me, that Salah's time is going to end sooner or later. He has been awful this season, earns £400,000 a week, and when you come out to media like he did, it certainly suggests he is open to leaving the club.

With Semenyo being available, it seems the perfect time to let Salah leave and bring in Semenyo. From a business point of view, it would make sense for Liverpool to push that, rather than be hostage to what Salah does or does not want.

He seems less of a fit at other big clubs. He is at risk at becoming another pawn an City. Man Utd really need to focus on defensive midfielders and wing backs. Chelsea seem to buy youngsters with sell on value. Arsenal have decent wide players.

Semenyo transfer has Liverpool's name written all over it, from what I see

The only thing I wonder is can Liverpool afford Semenyo?
With the money spent in the summer and needing another Centre back do they need to sell before they can buy?
I know they can afford him but will it be possible within the FFP rules?

I was led to believe Saudi would spend a relatively high fee for Salah?

If true, that could maybe cover a large part of Semenyo's buy out clause.

No idea how much flexibility Liverpool have with FFP

I have no idea either.
If they have to sell Salah to afford him would they gamble on that or would they choose to wait until the summer and go for someone else?
It also would depend on what Salah wants, it would not surprise me if an agreement has been made that he will go in the summer.

They have a lot of head room when it comes to FFP

I suspect they had a choice - keep Salah or sell him and bring in someone

Looks like it’s keeping Salah until the summer

Semenyo does look a decent player but i would suspect they might be looking at someone younger profile

If they have no financial restrictions then I’m suprised they don’t go for Semenyo now.
Ease him in while he learns the system then have him up to speed to take over from Salah at the start of next season.

He is a proven premier league player, be interesting who else they are thinking of.

Guess the only issue will be if he is just on a hot streak , last years numbers weren’t anything to shout about and been in the prem for a few years now

Trouble is you got to pay over the odds for players from other Premier league clubs.
it’s a gamble but most transfers are now
You do and maybe they are looking abroad

Also think we are close to HG players

Whoever comes in is going to be compared with the good version of Salah. Tough act to follow.
Yeah it’s why I think they are looking at spreading his goals across multiple players
