Arteta did the same against us , plays it safe when he should be going for it

Don’t think he has the ability to get his team over the line

If Arsenal were managed by either a Klopp or a Pep over the last 3/4 years they would have won at least a couple of titles and maybe a CL
I think he’s scared to win. You don’t sign a player like Eze who will win you games and help bring out the best in your striker by creating space and killer balls instead playing Merino who is at best a functional player and the sort you bring on with 10mins to go to see games out.

I genuinely think Arteta doesn’t know how to manage games that need decisions made where risks need taking. Half time subs he’s made today again show weakness Madueke has been exceptional so he takes him off for a half fit Saka. Move Madueke left and replace Trossard with Saka!!

Not a bad defensive display from a team that cannot defend.

That said, am struggling to put my finger on Arteta. It seemed a strange starting 11. Watching that game reminded me of why City bought Mahrez a few years back. He could unlock a tight defence. Arsenal don’t have that player. Arsenal will find like City and Liverpool, teams will sit back and suffocate you.

Could be another nearly season for both City and Arsenal.

Thought Arsenal were toothless . I was happy with the the way City defended, bit more steel lately in defence which I put down to Donnaruma. Great point for City which I would have took before the start but even better result for Liverpool.
I have lost count the amount of times that I have read
“ City cannot defend”.
I thought it was an excellent balanced display from a City team in transition.
It was so close to a 1-0 to the Arsenal sorry City.
Again the games I have been to and seen time wasting against City and now the boot was in the other foot.
The result was what Liverpool Would have wanted and they are deffo the team to beat. I cannot see either team outing a serious challenge against Them. Probably Chelsea though.

It’s prob the result I would have preferred

But yeah Arsenal didn’t really offer much

Some strange choices from Arteta

Really! Have you watched their last few games. Chelsea will finish 4th at best this season, they’re over reliance on Palmer has been found out and defensively they’re wide open.

It’ll still be Arsenal and City as the ones to get closest it just won’t be close enough. I’d even argue Spurs could push Chelsea out of that top 4.

Agree no way Chelsea will challenge for anything bar minor cups.

That's a good result for Arsenal today, not at their best but the difference between them before and now is their bench is stacked. They've had a tricky start too and played both of their main rivals. Off to a good start in the CL too.

Question marks over Arteta but he's still learning how to fit a few of the new signings in. They'll go very close.

KDB is the best player I’ve seen in a City shirt and I saw Colin Bell before he got injured. Silva was brilliant and arguably many city fans favourite player but I would put Yaya in front of Silva. All about opinions

Was always a huge fan of Silva , for years we were looking at him with Rafa being a big fan but never happened - used to glide across the pitch and his creativity was up there with the likes of Iniesta

Toure was a beast, all power and strength with the ability to strike a ball

KDB was a mix of the two and just as good as both

Best all round centre mid since Gerrard

I just rated Silva so highly because he was someone that many people said wouldn't succeed due to being small and weak. Yet no one could get near him and he did it for a decade. He even left with more hair than he started with 😅

I would also add to Yaya attributes was his passing. Always gets overlooked but it was excellent. Anyone remember when he played centre half for Barca in the champions league final ? He was superb

Never been a huge KDB fan, rated him as world class but believe he was overhyped. David Silva had a bigger impact for City overall. Be keen to hear Tashy's views?
I think Skytot has hit the nail On the head.
I would rate him Alongside Pavel Nedved as one of the best players I have seen in the flesh.
KDB never shirked the work rate. My biggest disappointment for him
Was the two champs league finals he played in. Kicked out of one and injured in the second.
I was fortunate to have a season ticket when he and Silva were at there best.
KDB edges it.

One of the lads I got to know at City was adamant that if City did not have Yaya. We would not of won our first prem title. He reckons Yaya dragged City through that season and over the line.
That said I once saw him
In a semi against Madrid and he was a waste of space. I don’t think he had a shower after the game.
His legacy was somewhat tarnished the way he left. His plank of an agent never helped.

The first season he was at City he struggled. From the pieces I have picked up. Wirtz at Liverpool could be going through the same scenario. His second season the Magician came alive. Am sure Wirtz will as well.
