@Swango1980 were they not a single minute late for his registration? Literally one minute. I appreciate that rules are rules but I think a fine is more appropriate in this instance.
If Utd had got through because of this,it would be even more embarrassing than going out to them on penalties imo.It is interesting that Grimsby have been fined for fielding an ineligible player in their win against Man Utd in the League Cup.
Now, Man Utd deserved to get eliminated as they were awful, and a fine is consistent to what has happened to teams doing the same thing in the League Cup before.
However, I just found it interesting that the EFL operates to a different set of rules to the FA. Had the same offence happened in the FA Cup, Grimsby would likely have been eliminated.
Yes, it was something ridiculous like that. I was only saying that it is interesting rules are applied differently in different cups.@Swango1980 were they not a single minute late for his registration? Literally one minute. The point was that it has been suggested that Trafford will only get games via the carabao, and FA cup. My point was Trafford could also get games on top of that. Only one person is suggesting “ he plugs the gap”.Oh come on, Tash!
Do you really want to justify it by suggesting James Trafford, a young keeper with international ambitions, is there to plug the gap when your first choice is injured? Like Kelleher when he was at Liverpool, Trafford should be playing first team football, not waiting for the occasional opportunity.

How long do you think Donna Summers had off after this photo. Ederson had a similar injury.
Ederson played 26 times last season.
What I find really really odd is this.
Utds new keeper is three months older than Trafford. Yet he is viewed as an unknown young gamble. Being thrown into the lions den making a massive step up from the Belgian league to Old Trafford. Yet Trafford has “international ambitions”.so it begs the question. Why did Utd not address there woeful keeper problem with the best young keeper on the market.
City have “ happy problems” with there keepers.
Trafford is learning off Donna Summers. Lammens is learning off Onana.
That will be dependent on how the seasons going for Liverpool.
It’s not really a surprise , would expect us to go back in Jan
Just been announced Donna Summers is to wear Number 25 shirt.
Wish it had been number 115.
Tash, James Trafford is a Premier League keeper. He has played in the Premier League and is knocking on the door of the England squad.
Lammens has played a handful of games in the Belgian league. You’re comparing apples with pears.
EDIT: And if by “best young keeper on the market” you’re referring to Donnarumma, United apparently never expressed an interest in him. I suspect his wages are sky high, and there is also the issue with his frailty in dealing with crosses. Perhaps United thought they would be leaping from the frying pan into the fire? Who knows?
I watched a lot of Trafford at Bolton. He’s exceptional. And a quick look at his stats and how many records he holds for clean sheets… wow!
City have a stunning keeper there. When or if City play him is up to them but he’d be wasted on the bench.

City simply exercised their buy back right in order to prevent Trafford from being signed by one of their rivals (immediate or up and coming). They always had a longer term plan involving another keeper.
(Dont ask me how i know this or where my supporting evidence is...I'm just practicing my FB/TikTok/Twitter speculation techniques in readiness for Januarys transfer window and my re-invention as a football transfer Nostradamus)
I agree, Bri. He’s a quality keeper with the clear potential to be England’s first choice when they move on from Pickford.
I absolutely agree City have two quality keepers. But I do think it really odd that, by signing one, they will be stifling the other.
Trafford should be playing regular first team football. It’s nonsense to suggest anything less for a keeper of his quality is justifiable.

Easier to spell than Donna Kebab. Is there a reason you’re calling him Donna Summers or is it a failed attempt at being funny?
