The Chelsea manager was talking to the press saying how the tournament had the best clubs in the world there :ROFLMAO: . Chelsea were not even in the top 3 in England last season. The best team in England, the best team in Spain, neither are there. I hope he had a degree of embarrassment when he said it.

It's a worthless competition, apart from the money of course. No one cares about it.
Except perhaps Bayern, who have now lost a young player for quite a long time.

Excellent performance by the England ladies team today in a must win European Championships game against the Netherlands.

A totally dominant performance, utterly unlike the meek approach against France in the opening game, saw England put 4 goals past the Dutch without reply.

Wales are next up in the final group match and in all likelihood will have part packed their bags by then, given they are already a goal down in the opening stages in the game against France, having already lost to the Netherlands 3-0 in their opening group game.

Interesting "stat" from the commentary in the PSG v Madrid match.

The PSG winger Kvaretskhelia picked up TWO League Championship winners medals last season. One in Italy after playing 17 times for Napoli and the other in France with PSG after signing for them in the January window.

Been a cracking start to the match...PSG have just gone ahead on 7 minutes and could be further in front strike that...they are now 2 up in the 9th minute. Game is utterly wide open. But two howling defensive mistakes have gifted PSG a start they couldnt have dreamed of.

Credit to PSG, been amazing all season and finally managing to look good against the elite and not just the rest of the French league.

That front three is so fluid with unbelievable control it's ridiculous.

I do wonder how many of the teams involved in the club World Cup will benefit from being in the first one ever held. Not including prize money but a lot of these clubs are struggling financially according to FIFA to meet their financial agreement. I bet these charges suddenly disappear

I'd like to take some partial credit for PSG's recent form.

Since I called them bottle jobs after they lost 1-0 to Liverpool, they've won at Anfield, The Emirates, won the CL with a record winning margin in the final and look set to cruise to this title.

Some of these players are so good they'll be wasted in France next season.

I do think are some of their players thinking they need to play on the bigger stage.
With no disrespect to the French League, the Premier League and La Liga are both bigger with arguably also the Bundesliga and serie A. Will huge wages be enough to keep their players?

Qatar own the club, no one will leave on the cheap. They've shown they'd rather run a contract down than be forced to sell in the case of Mbappe. I can't see anyone going this summer really.

I agree it won’t be cheap but if a player wants to try their luck in a different/more competitive league will PSG stand in their way?
Some players may feel having achieved the Champions league win it’s time to move on and a player angling for a move can cause chaos in a dressing room.
If all players are happy and want to stick together they will be a tough team to beat next year

A fair few of their team have played in Spain, Italy and England before. It must be tough to leave huge wages and such a good set up. They will take the piss next year again IMO!

Amazing scouting and what a manager.

Mad when you think the players they had 2/3 years ago.
Individual superstars but not team players.
Enrique had the foresight and bravery to move them on and reaped the rewards.
The question for me is for them players currently at the club how much more is there to achieve by staying with the club?
