Before he went into management he did a few pundit gigs and came across ok
Interesting to see how he does
When he told the story about seeing Micah out for dinner one night was funny

He should have stayed with Derby for a bit longerNot for the fans of the clubs he was managing

Elanga to Newcastle finally seems to be done at £52m plus add-ons.
Might shut some of the twittering classes up, who are moaning about lack of signings and how the team managing transfers don't know what they are doing.
Not sure what Man U's share of that is going to be.
Would have preferred Mbuemo for his absolute goals contribution myself, but I guess Elanga has advantages in that he will be playing with his Swedish international team mate Isak so should be some familiarity there. Also his high energy work rate, outright pace and power and willingness to help defend, will fit in with the team ethos. Hopefully Eddie does what he has done with all the new signings and gets Elanga up to speed on the training pitch and properly integrated with the team style of play, before throwing him into competitive action.
Little bit of money will also be released as it looks like Longstaff is off to Leeds for £12m which will be pure PSR profit.
Just need to get Trafford in (and ship some of the excess keepers we have out), along with another quality central defender and a midfielder or two (one defensive, one more forward thinking - I'd take Harvey Elliott with no hesitation for the latter if the price was reasonable) to add some proper depth to the squad. I'd also like another out and out striker...not totally convinced about Will Osula's ability to fill in for Isak...watched him a couple of times in the recent Euro U-21 champs for Denmark and he looked a bit lost in terms of taking up good positions.
We've been sweeping up some kids as well 16yo's Alfie Hutchinson and Oliver Goodbrand from Rangers and possibly Isaac Moran from Liverpool....but these will be nowhere near the first team for several years and I'd say they are more likely to be part of a strategy to develop some young players and sell them on for profit in three years time.
Need to get rid of the deadwood from the squad...Vlachodimos (GK), Gillespie (GK), Hayden (MF), Lascelles (DF), Targett (DF) as well to free up some wages...not that any of them will be on vast sums but every little helps when the club is so restricted by PSR.
Hopefully the next four weeks see's a little more action on the transfer front so that players can work with the squad before the season kicks off. Frankly I'd much prefer it if the transfer window closed before the season kicks off, but most teams will have played 3 games before it closes on the 1st September.
@nickjdavis I am surprised Longstaff is so cheap. I'd happily take him at Everton. I'd like us to dive in to those transfer talks and pick him up.
Elanga is a good signing for you. Definitely fits your style of play.

We are buying a possible, a maybe. Done okay in Spain, he is young, we are hoping he will fit in and progress. Could be a clever buy, we could be selling him back to Spain for £12m in 2 years time
Not heard much about him tbh
The bookies can’t split Arsenal,City & Liverpool, all around 2/1.If Newcastle get Trafford there squad will push City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Prem looking tasty for next season.

Will be more financial restrictions to try and protect clubs in some way
And also hopefully a stronger and better fit and proper test for owners
Like football needs the first one! Whatever they do will end up not being fit for purpose, like the current set of rules surrounding this kind of thing.
The second one though, certainly. Hopefully it will be more about that one than the first.
