We did get a lot of money for him

We also got a lot of money for other players that have been sold over the years

And then there is the increase in revenue

Club has to spend and sell well because it’s fully self sustaining with no funds coming from the owners

If we spend a significant amount this summer

There will be a good amount coming in for players like

Diaz , Nunez , Kostas , Elliot , Kelleher , Doak
Surely taking a big loss on Nunez?
He’s been a massive flop, spent most of the season getting splinters from the bench 😬

It's the same with City. Either do something or drop it. Dragging it out is poor.

The fa are clearly clueless in the situation

I've latest I've read is that they can't link it to him directly so they want to ban him for "not giving us his phone" when actually he gave it willing to them, after X amount of months it was handed back. Now even myself (not a millionaire) would have replaced it as you can't live without a phone so I'd sell it when given back. If the fa are that thick they didn't download all the evidence (IE clone the phone) then it's on them

They have dragged this out almost 2 years. Cost him a mega move to city and what sort of mental strain put on him?

There is talk they have chosen to go down this route as they only have to prove guilt to 51% which I'm sorry you can't ban a player on 51% guilt

They dont want to lose face it seems and can't accept they can't prove anything actually happened

Why on earth would any player risk their career for the sake for max bets of £500 I believe it was?

It doesn't make sense

Mbuemo to United appears to be happening which, with the Cunha signing, represents a good bit of business. If we can sign a proper striker we might be able to aim for 12th next season!

So the government appointed football regulator is now under investigation because he gave money to Lisa Nandys Premiership campaign. The very person that helped to appoint him 😖

Looking at other “rumours”

Man City looking to spend £50mil Alt Nori
£40mil on Cherki but seems Slot also met the player a few weeks back

Bellingham ( Jobe ) to Dortmund

KDB to Napoli
Hojlung to Inter
Diaz to Saudi or Barcelona

Because United of course are only paying him pennies.
No top class Premier league player at any club will be earning pennies.

Bruno gets £300,000 a week at Utd, and it was reported he was offered £700,000 a week in Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, after tax, Bruno would "only" be earning about £160,000 a week in the UK. I don't believe he pays any tax in Saudi Arabia. If that is the case, he would more than quadruple his income by going there.

So, I think it is fair to say he isn't choosing to stay at Man Utd for the £££. And if he had gone to Saudi Arabia, it would primarily be for the £££

How much money does a person need though? There comes a point where more money is completely unnoticeable since you have more than you'll ever need anyway.

I don't know, because everyone usually adapts to what they have. I don't "need" all the money I have (I'm not mega wealthy btw, but comfortable). But I could quite easily spend more money if my salary was higher.

It is obvious that millionaires will often still have an ambition to earn even more money. Otherwise, what was the primary reason for footballers going to Saudi, for golfers playing on LIV, for boxers wanting to fight in the Middle East, etc?

Yeah, sure. I guess my point was that the jump for him is less significant than say, Ivan Toney who went from Brentford wages.

But, did Ivan Toney need to make that huge jump in salary?

Would he not have had an option to join a top English / European side? If so, he'd have still had a big increase in his salary, I guess anything from £150,000 to £300,000 per week

At Brentford, he was apparently on £20,000 a week. In Saudi Arabia he is on about £415,000 a week

So yeah, a much bigger jump. He has spent much of his career below the top flight as well, so it makes sense for him to earn as much as possible now in the latter years of his career. Completely different situation to Bruno F.

But it goes back to your question then, how much money does a person need?

Are you suggesting it is very difficult to live on £20,000 a week, and that earning £415,000 a week just about makes up for the deficit the poor 28 year old has had to face? Had he earned £200,000 to £300,000 at another club in England, would this just not be enough to make up for his financial woes?
