Question: If Man City win the FA Cup and also get one of the five CL spots, does that mean 6th and 7th get Europa League and 8th gets Conference? 🤔

(On the basis that FA Cup winners get Europa, but City wouldn't require the spot....does it go to next down in the league?)

So the answer to my query above is yes.

Further scenario then:

The above happens and Chelsea finish 6th. Cheslea then win the Conference League and (also) get a Europa League spot from that.

Do 7th and 8th then get Europa, with 9th getting Conference?!

Hopefully mate! 😂 won’t hold my breath though. 😅

That said, it would be very Forest to struggle to hang on for a point against a terrible team like Leicester, only to somehow win the last two and actually end up with a CL spot.

I’ll take Europa league any day of the week though. As I’ve said, my only desire for CL at this point is being able to keep more of our core squad and attract some marquee signings to improve the squad.

Well you're guaranteed Conference league and would have a great shot at going deep in the competition.

Persoanlly, Im glad Villa had a year in that before playing UCL this season, got the players a bit more used to 2 games a week I think.

Not that we did well after any games in Europe, the dropped points in those games are the difference between us being in the top 5 and not.

Don’t get me wrong he has done brilliant for your club and it’s always good to see an passionate owner

But there is a time and a place and the optics for storming onto the pitch to confront the manager is never going to be good - show constraint as a professional owner and seek the manager out after away from the camera so that there is no headline

It was clear from Nunos reaction he was thinking wtf are you doing

It’s a shame that the headlines are about him and not about how well Forest have done getting back into Europe
Nuno can look after himself.
Regardless of where the cameras are, personally I think it's better to direct complaints straight to the person as Marinakis does, rather than sneaking them out via leaks to the media, weasel style, as most owners do.

If Chelsea win the conference and don’t finish top 5 then there will be 3 spots up for Europes Lge - the Cup winners and 6th , unless city Win and then is 7th as well . If Chelsea are in 6th then it’s just two spots

If Palace win the FA Cup then 7th gets conference spot

😂

It’s all very simple

We can only have 9 in Europe next season

6 in the CL is a guaranteed

Then it’s either

2 in Europa and 1 in Conference

Or 3 in Europa only

Yes have the complaints directly to the person - no issues with that , but not in the middle of the pitch just as the final whistle goes

Speak to him directly and in private so that the media can’t grab it and go overboard

This is another reason why I feel this has been one of the worst Premier league seasons (from my perspective).

The club I support has been horrific, and given me no direct pleasure in the league
There has been no title challenge. Is this one of the worst title challenges in Premier League history? There is usually at least a 2 horse race.
The relegation scrap is non existent
The only "highlight" is the competition for European spots. Yet, we don't even know what spots get what, as it can all change depending on what happens in Cups

Just a dreadful dreadful season.

Think there have been plenty of seasons where a team hasn’t had much of a challenge to winning

Chelsea in 05
United in 2000
City in 2018
Arsenal in 04

Relegation battle has been non existent

It has been enjoyable to see some teams struggle

But think it’s great to see some new teams battling for European spots

Apparently this is the top 25 premier league players according to the telegraph

Salah not even in it

Interesting that pires is in it over him
I would have any of them before Salah.
Except Neville of course 😂

Just to clarify I didn’t say Salah isn’t a great player he is. Just not Player of the year this year.

The media will do what the media do. It's just noise.
Man Utd fans might wonder if the Glazers or Ratcliffe really care about their club and community.
Liverpool fans might wonder if Fenway Group really care about their club and community.
Forest aren't in the same league as them as a corporation, but most people in the city aren't left in any doubt whether or not Marinakis really cares about them and the club.

I don’t think the issue is about caring - that’s not in doubt

You have an owner who is volatile and has already served a significant ban within the sport - that’s not a great optic

It’s noise that doesn’t need to be there

when it comes down to FSG I just want them to do what’s right for the club and run it right -whether Henry cares or not doesn’t matter , it’s a sport and it’s about winning and getting things right

I wouldn’t want my owner to be storming onto the pitch at the final whistle to confront the manager or officials etc

Headlines this morning should all be about the great achievement of Forest reaching Europe for the first time in decades - not about the owner , Forest have been great this season and was really hoping they got into the CL , think their football is great to watch and it should be all about how well they have done

It’s only noise because people(yourself included) are going on about it.
If it’s left to the 2 concerned to sort it out it’s no longer an issue.

I think its been a great season, its competitive from 2nd down to 7th and some teams 8-12th were in with a chance of Europe 5/6 weeks ago.

Yes, since the turn of the year Liverpool haven't really had a challenger, and yes, relegation has been all but confirmed for about 10 weeks, but the middle pack of the PL is getting really competitive and play great football.

The only big big issue for me is that 2 years in a row the 3 promoted teams have gone straight back down, we need that to stop to keep refreshing the league - incredibly hard to achieve though, the only model that seems to stand a chance is signing a lot of players and gambling a bit on staying up. Very risky though!

It’s all over the media , when you do something in the full glare of the cameras it’s going to be all over all media outlets - it’s never going to be left to just 2 people when you do it in front of millions and people are going to speak about it because it’s not exactly an everyday occurrence

If the owner had waited to speak to him privately then no one would have known anything

I'm not sure who really cares what Neville and the other pundits who are paid to find and amplify talking points go on about.
It's boring media background noise.

Remember the saying “ todays headlines are tomorrows chip-paper”
If it’s left alone, the topic will drop away.

Unfortunately they appear to have voices that carry weight - same with a lot of the media and pundits

Neville and Carragher both appear to be getting too “big” - if that’s the right word

Too many hang on their word

both of them shouldn’t be near any game involving United or Liverpool as well
