I wonder if Piers Morgan is the most deluded bias fan out there

It seems that there has been a “shift in power” from Pep to ………Arteta

He is now it seems the top manager in the Prem and in Europe and they are the team to fear and the table is false at the moment
Morgan is an imbecile of mega proportions. He was calling for Arteta's head early on in his reign as manager because he didn't pick Aubamayang. Likewise with Ten Hag because he dropped Ronaldo. Both players mind he'd sycophantically curried favour with. Plastering his Twitter feed with pictures of himself with them as though he was their best mate. Unbearable

Ronaldo could be arrested for a terrible crime, and Morgan would still coo over him, and act like they are best buddies. Meanwhile, he would be happy to tear a good person to shreds if he felt like he was making a great point and he has no interest in hearing their side of the story. So yes, he is an imbecile.

In other news, it seems Luke Shaw has suffered yet another setback in his protracted recovery from injury.
Saying Shaw has had another injury set back is like saying Darwin Nunez will bounce back :ROFLMAO:

I have pretty much accepted for a long time that Shaw will always be injured. I've no idea if the bad leg break earlier in his career has had a long term impact on his general fitness, or if he is just made of glass. He actually was one of our highest appearance makers in ETH's first season, but since then he just has never looked fit. Even when he was playing. Real shame, and as pointed out, not even 30 yet. He has another 15 league appearances to make to match Ledley King's Premier league appearances.

It is interesting the headlines will highlight the mistakes, thus the conclusion is often "VAR is rubbish, scrap it" if the details are not read. But, there have been 70 VAR interventions so far this season, 4 of them deemed to be incorrect. Which implies on 66 occasions, VAR was correct to intervene. Thus in 94% of cases, VAR has been a benefit in coming up with the right decision instead of relying on the on field referee, and in 6% of occasions it has been worse in comparison to the (original) decision made by the onfield referee. So, it would seem clear that VAR is giving us more correct decisions (and, of course, this doesn't include offsides which VAR should get correct significantly more often then relying on the linemen).

Don't get me wrong, I still hate it. Not because it is making worse decisions than we had before. But because when something happens in a game, you have that awful wait to see if a few guys in an office want to make a match changing decision. That includes tight offside calls, I hate that wait.
Anyone that reads this and thinks it's an accurate portrayal of VAR needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and go watch skipping or something because it's absolute rubbish. Statistics to fit the narrative

It's not hard to get 90% of easy decisions correct, it's their job, it's how you cherry pick the ones you say are wrong, or in this case the ones they never look at even though they should have which are not included as an error.

Really the sun is hot, i'm a genius, call me Patrick Moore.

After the Plane thread I was wondreing if we need an intelligence test to post but realised we can't afford to lose that many members..........

Must be so frustrating for players like Shaw & Reece James.
Yes they’re on mega money & people have it a lot worse than them.
But injury after injury 🤯

Defensive 5-4-1 line-up tonight for Newcastle....can't help thinking that this is just inviting 90 minutes of pressure.

Is it right to bet against your own team to offset the disappointment of potential defeat?

Regardless of how hard or easy you think their job is, I'm sure it is factually correct they intervened 70 times. And on 66 occasions, they were right to do so. Even if all 66 decisions were the easiest calls in the world, they still corrected what the onfield ref got wrong.

Perhaps we'd all point at other calls we think they shouldn't have got right, but presumably we'd still be left with well over 50% correct calls.

And it's achingly annoying when they sit on their backside and don't act when they should. Though ultimately VAR or not, we'd have been left with that incorrect decision anyway.

And despite all that, I still would be happy to get rid of it.
