Is Ten Hag a good boss? Looking from the outside, no. Is he a good disciplinarian? No. Is he a good man manager/motivator? No. Is he a good tactician? No.

Think of the established player, some star performers in their own right, who have been unceremoniously bounced out of the team, and are shadows of what their best performances look like. Think of the emerging talent, like Sancho, who have been brought in and have become shadows of the talent they originally displayed. Think of the players who in the early matches looked good, and now shouldn’t wear the shirt. You’ve got to be well down the road of fed up to criticise your boss in public. And you’ve got to be pretty fed up and disillusioned with a regime to take yourself off to Belfast to party.

Discipline with a stick doesn’t work. It doesn’t engender trust, and it doesn’t see employees go that extra mile.

Is Ten Hag a Pep or a Klopp? Oh stop it, he’s not even in the same street as those guys. If Utd are going to dine at the top table again, he needs to go.

When City won the prem for the first time I was asked by a Utd fan to rub his nose in it. In fact it was more than one. I had spent a couple of decades watching purgatory football whilst Utd ruled Europe and basically week after week, Utd armchair fans making a beeline for me and taking the Mick. I couldn’t lower myself to that level. My response was “ there’s nothing for me to say you know you’re not the team you were”.
Quite frankly if I was A Utd fan today watching that I would be bloody livid. ETH, his set up is atrocious. A Prem team should have a Championship team chasing shadows. Rashford is quite frankly shocking. He is now a senior player and is a pathetic example. Onana wasting time with goals kicks at 2-0 onwards. His goading of players during the penalty kicks undefendable. Same with the MOTM Fernandes. What’s a horrible little rat he is.
I seriously hope City batter Utd in the final.
All that said. What a performance by Coventry. Denied a 4-3 victory by the finest of margins. But more so what a very good football performance for a Championship 1 team. Hope they get to The Prem
Man U ruled Europe?

I must have missed them decades.

Although, on balance, just remember you could have posted exactly the same thing about those players before ETH came to the club, just replacing ETH with whoever else was in charge.

There has been a lot of things going wrong behind the scenes at Man Utd for a very long time. I've no idea what the atmosphere is like being within that club as a package, but it doesn't seem enjoyable.

At this stage, it almost seems like a few of those players know they may not be at the club for much longer, and they've mentally checked out. Either that, or they just assume the manager will get the boot, and so they've still checked out until the new guy comes in.

To be honest, I don’t think your questions are fair, they should all be asked as above:

He has a very good record in Holland and showed there he had ability, it’s more likely he’s just not able to step up to a Club that has much higher expectations.

But even at Utd in 2 years he’s managed to reach 3 Finals, winning one of them.

I totally accept Man Utd fans do not like his style of Football, but he still produced some end product.

I don’t think he’ll be there much longer, but I don’t think the problems are all down to him.

Do you think many Championship managers would cut it at the top end of the Prem? And that’s the Dutch league at best. How many Dutch teams make it to the final stages of the Champion’s League on a regular basis?

I don’t think all the problems are down to him but I do think he’s out of his depth.

I think the penalty Hojlund scored was something crazy like his second shot since after the international break.

Couldn't verify completely, but managed to find he has had 2 shots in total over the last 4 PL games. Over the season, he had averaged 1 shot a game, but had that rich vein just before his last injury.

He's not ready to be leading the line, he's out of his depth. The service from Rashford and Garnacho is poor as both are two of the most selfish players around but it doesn't excuse his poor movement, weak hold up play, poor touch and shocking finishing. He's a £25m punt and squad player at best. Someone that might come good and at that price is worth the risk. Paying £70m for someone so limited was madness.

Antony showing his lack of class again by goading the Coventry players at the end. In comparison Harry Maguire didn't celebrate and went over to them all and showed a lot of respect 👏

For those that were asking about the ending of replays in the FA Cup.

"The EFL wishes to clarify further its position in respect of yesterday’s Premier League and Football Association bi-lateral announcement over the removal of FA Cup replays.
"The agreement which now sees the abolition of replays from the competition format was agreed solely between the Premier League and FA.
"Ahead of the deal being announced there was no agreement with the EFL nor was there any formal consultation with EFL clubs as members of the FA and participants in the competition.
"This latest agreement between the Premier League and the FA, in the absence of financial reform, is just a further example of how the EFL and its clubs are being marginalised in favour of others further up the pyramid and that only serves to threaten the future of the English game."

You post some really good stuff, but on occasion what you say really does hint at anti-United bias.

Weak hold up play and poor touch? Really? Open your eyes. Of all the things Hojlund can be accused of these elements, and certainly weak hold up play, are most certainly not on the list. He is one of the strongest forwards I have seen in years, and holds the ball really, really well.

He is starved of service. Has been since day one. As soon as Rashford was out for a short period, and Hojlund was being brought into the game by those around him, he started banging in the goals. Then came a minor injury and international break, and on his return Rashford is again starting every week. Hojlund’s poor returns coincide very much with Rashford playing outside him.

Is Hojlund ready to lead a line? Nobody can really tell because he has been living off scraps. But please take the blinkers off. He’s been one of the few positives.

That’s hindsight though, Klopp did well with Dortmund, but nowhere near what ETH did in Holland, at times Dutch Football was at the top of both European and World football.

To rate it on a level with Championship Football is a bit harsh, the next top manager has to cut his teeth somewhere, look at the bunfight for Alonso, but what’s he really done? Leverkuesen could be no more than a Leicester, but big teams want him.

I don’t agree with it, think it’s wrong and solely done for the PL benefit.

If they really want to help Clubs in Europe I’d prefer they’d give them the option of not entering the FA or Caraboa Cups.

How about scrapping 2 leg European games? Less travelling, less games, - win, win as these are the things that top clubs are moaning about.

Or is it they are just pressing for more money in the European Super league which will be here soon? I wonder..................... 🤔

That’s a UEFA decision and I can’t see them going down that route. As you say, too greedy!

Looking at the revised format for the CL, the European Super League is 5 months away. This was pushed through the back door when the initial breakaway Super League was announced.

Ask yourself these questions but change the manager from Ten Haag to Moyes to Van Gaal to Mourinho to Ragnick?

It can't always be the manager.

Another weekend arguably ruined by VAR, referees, PGMOL.

Grealish handball is up there with the worst decisions of the season. It’s a penalty - no mitigating circumstances whatsoever… Outcome: Goal kick 🤣🤣💩💩

Anthony Taylor showing himself to be the worst referee I’ve ever seen once again in the Everton / Forest match. He doesn’t make any decisions on pitch (recurring theme with him, he bottles everything) and VAR doesn’t seem willing to pick up on his mistakes.

So sorry for Coventry. Marginal (at best) and in the old days that would have been given. The cracks in the United side all so clear to see as soon as the pressure is on. Surely the buck stops with the manager. Felt sorry for Forest as I thought they had at least one clear penalty shout.

I think the odds are low that UEFA will scrap 2 leg European games to ensure the FA Cup in England can continue to have replays.

I'm not overly bothered by there being no replays in the FA Cup. After all, on the rare occasion that a minnow holds a big team to a draw in 90 minutes, I think they have more chance at giving us an upset in extra time / penalties, than they do having to start the match again, giving the big side time to catch their breath and regroup.

But, what clearly does seem unacceptable, is that the EFL clubs were not in the conversation. At the very least, it gives them a chance to negotiate some sort of better settlement to allow the compromise. Will there ever be a world where the EFL clubs may refuse to play the FA Cup next season in protest?

My biggest issue with the Forest pens was that while the 1st 2 can be called "subjective", the 3rd pen Taylor pointed to the ball and made an action of " young played the ball". Now for me he never so that must be classed as a clear and obvious error.

Are you seriously suggesting clubs should be allowed to pick and chose what cups they play in?
