Yep. A foul is a foul, but unnecessary drama to get somebody sent off for a mistimed challenge stinks, even if your own player does it.
But I’d argue a mistimed challenge that warrants a yellow card is a mistimed challenge that warrants a yellow card, regardless of how much drama the player makesYep. A foul is a foul, but unnecessary drama to get somebody sent off for a mistimed challenge stinks, even if your own player does it.
Fixed it for youThe psychology of many Liverpool fans is amusing at times.
A month ago, Billyboots dared mention the injury crisis (plus players unavailable for other reasons) Man Utd have had all season. This was dampened by one Liverpool fan, by saying all clubs have to deal with injuries, and highlighting the current injury list which was much shorter than it had been (and wrong as 2 injured players did not apear).
Presumably this is so that injuries can be blissfully ignored, and the quality of players can be continually criticised for most of the problems.
Fast forward to now, and we are being told about Liverpools growing injury list, and how great Liverpool are for competing on 4 fronts. Interesting interpretation. Liverpool.have been relatively lucky with injuries for most of the season, hence how they started well and built up that momentum (Robertson and Thiago being injured for a long time). Had their injuries been reversed with Man U and Newcastle their performances may well have reversed as well. Just like last season when Liverpool players were tired (never Klopps fault, even though we know it has got too much for him, hence having to step down at end of season).
Sure, they are now getting hit with a lot of injuries now. But as other fans were told, just deal with it, other clubs have to.

To your original point I think its remarkable. Outside of the most optimistic Liverpool fans, I doubt anyone thought Liverpool would be top of the table and still in all the cups in late february, injuries or no injuries.we are dealing with itthat was the whole point
Let’s just clarify the initial point
It wasn’t a comparison, it wasn’t a competition, it wasn’t a moan
No one was saying the club was any different - it wasn’t a cry for help
It was just a statement of fact that the club has a number of injuries right now and have a lot of games coming up where it’s going to be tough to keep going on all front’s
Yes other clubs have injuries , some have had a lot and some have had very little - it’s swings and roundabouts - we have had issues in the past and we didn’t cope , this year we are right now
Yet you seem to be quite sensitive when others play down your injuries, saying all clubs need to deal with it, judging by your responses. Yet it is only the same reaction you gave to other clubs when they suffered themselves.we are dealing with itthat was the whole point

At any rate, it doesn't surprise me too much that Liverpool get injuries. I'd see City as a much better team / squad technically than Liverpool. But Liverpool's strength seems to be playing high octane / tempo football, which would seem to make players more prone to certain injuries. It is a bit like F1, where Red Bull (best car) puts on hard tyres, and into the race Ferrari are just in front, with soft tyres. It would seem silly if Ferrari started complaining about bad luck when their soft tyres wear out first.
To me, Man City start the season on hard tyres. Around Xmas they might upgrade to mediums and then in the run in they stick on brand new soft tyres. Whereas Liverpool only seem to own soft tyres, and so they just batter them as much as they can and hope they hold up.
Is it that remarkable? Assuming Liverpool were able to up their game from last season, then they were one of a small group of clubs you could realistically say could top the table in February. That may be their most difficult feat, with Man City and Arsenal the two other main contenders at this time, and maybe one or 2 others having an outside chance. I'm not sure it is a big surprise Liverpool have done well in the EFL Cup either, they have a big squad to play good enough sides in those games. They've only played 2 rounds in the FA Cup, so I wouldn't be surprised they are still in that, albeit it has taken a good result against Arsenal. And I 99% expected them to still be in Europe at this stage, with teams like Union Saint-Gilloise, LASK and Toulouse in their group. To your original point I think its remarkable. Maybe LiVARpool are getting injuries because of VAR? After all, with VAR taking time to see ways of giving decisions that benefit Liverpool, the downside is that the Liverpool players are playing in a lot of games with long stoppages. Getting cold muscles, and hence getting injuredI just think that footballers are so highly tuned, muscle injuries are becoming more common. Style of play may mitigate to some extent, but its still luck in the main part.
If he doesn't go to Bayern (which he may if Solskjaer says noI don’t think many Liverpool fans expected it as well, think the aim after such a big turnaround in the middle was to challenge for top 4 again and get back into CL whilst looking to rebuild again
To be where we are after last season is brilliant and it’s great to see , I still think City will win the title but if we can get a couple of the cups and second that would give a great base to continue building next season under Alonso![]()
