I said that as quietly as I could.

I'd like to see the England midfield shape similar to Ange's Spurs midfield, where you have a holder, a box-to-box and a more advanced player in a three. So Rice would be the holder, the box-to-box is Bellingham or Trent, and the attacking one is Bellingham or Foden, or perhaps Maddison if you play Foden on the left. Foden needs to be in the side, but I think he's perfectly capable of playing off the left side. Saka would still be on the right for me.

Like "rating" means anything. Maddison has played half a season...
His (Saka) numbers are down on last year, for whatever reason. That's also a stat.
I've also said he's our (Englands) best player on the right though, highest up side
This time last year Arsenal were 5 points clear at the top so that probably has something to do with it! WhoScored have detailed metrics for their ratings, he wouldn't be the second highest rated player over 20+ games by accident. It shows he's playing well and doing the right things even if it hasn't resulted in quite as many goals or assists.Like "rating" means anything. Maddison has played half a season...

Bowen is not starting, no chance. Classic case of a player looking good in a poorer team but can they make the step up with better players around them? He's just not as good as Foden or Grealish, or even Rashford arguably, but his numbers are boosted by being the main man at a small club.I like to see kane up top with Bowen and saka either side. Whatever one playing left
Foden dropped behind them
Rice and Bellingham running the middle
I think that would be outstanding

Hang on - he got 15 goals in 48 apps in all comps last season and now he has 11 in 30. That's a slightly better ratio if anything! I don't know where you've got this idea that he's having a poor season.I'd say Arsenal generally just haven't been quite as good as last season.

Maddison was arguably the best player in the league before he got injured. Regardless, I don't think he'll be starting for England either, unless he recaptures that form and maintains it right to the end of the season. So a moot point.Same could be said for Maddison really then , spurs aren't exactly flying. More others around then not taking advantage
We're talking Champion's League here, but ok. As I say, Arsenal as a whole perhaps haven't been quite as good as they were in the first half of last season. I still think Saka is a stand-out performer for them. He is only 22 still, rock solid consistency is hard. All comps and league are different things. I don't care about cup goals, they're wholly irrelevant. He's less impressive, I don't know what else to tell you. I watch football with my eyes and don't form every opinion with stats to back me up.
I'm not convinced Champions League stats should necessarily be taken as "impressive", unless it is maybe during the final stages. The teams that Arsenal will play in the Group stages are not necessarily world beaters. PSV, Lens and Sevilla. A couple of them might have been big teams at one point in history, but not sure they are of high standard this season? Would they generally fall below an average Premier league side? Lens are 6th in French League and Sevilla 15th in Spanish. I guess PSV are the ones having a good season in their domestic league, well out on top. We're talking Champion's League here, but ok. As I said before I'd like to see this kind of set-up.Pickford
Walker/TAA Stones. ? ?
Bellingham Rice Foden
Saka Kane Grealish/?
Add or take away from that
Traditionally Sevilla are a good side, I didn't realise that were doing that poorly this season though. Either way, he has 8 Prem goals, last season he finished on 14 - we're only just over half-way, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he goes on a good a run and matches or exceeds that number.I'm not convinced Champions League stats should necessarily be taken as "impressive", unless it is maybe during the final stages. How many wingers really get 20 goals a season? Even Salah only managed 19 in the league season. There's nothing quite like heaping ridiculous pressure and expectations on a young English player is there?Someone really loves Saka....
Would you not expect him to get better returns each year at present? He went quiet over Xmas but does seem to be picking up again ill give you that.
What I want is a 20 goal a season man out of him.

Surely they'd be better off buying a striker? The top top players do. He's capable of it.
Id want Son doing the same if I supported Spurs.
Were talking about a winger for one of the best 3 sides in the country.... They'll never win the league without a 20+ man
Surely they'd be better off buying a striker?Watkins would be a good fit.
Saka is a superb player , the one player out there that imo would be able to step in a replace Mo when he leaves
He is 22 and still developing and will have times where his form will drop off but he has all the tools to be a top player
He should be starting on the right for England
Imo this shoold be the England team at the moment
Pickford
Walker
Tomori
Stones
Chilwell
Rice
Jones
Bellingham
Saka
Kane
Foden
