I think the booth got it right. SLO-mo showed CLewin’s foot jerk as it caught the guy. It was more than just a mere brush. My first thought was the red was wrong but after watching it a few times, the onfield ref doesn’t get that luxury, I think the right decision was made. It was foot up, studs showing and it was reckless.

Would a yellow have been fairer? Possibly but a red stopped CL doing it twice, and will make him more careful in future.
The momentum had gone from the tackle by the time contact was made. Had there had been any venom in it then I'd agree it was a clear red. As it was he only just made contact with the guy, there was no danger.

Maybe I've not seen the right angle, but I'm not even sure it was a foul let alone a red card. Looks like he slides across, with one foot not two, takes the ball cleanly, and then there is an inevitable coming together of the two players who are both challenging for the same ball. Stand by what I said earlier - if that is a red card now then slide tackles are effectively outlawed altogether.

Again this is half the problem, 10 viewing angles, in slow-mo, super slow-mo, rewind slomow, forward slow mo. The decision as seen, as it occured was correct, he tried to scoop the ball away and accidentally clipped the player with his studs at very little power. You've watched it multiple times and now see stuff that just isn't there. This not football. I no longer watch football at all or have any interest in the scores, it's only the fact I have teenagers who keep me informed really. So very disheartened with football, Var and many of the fans that seem to embrace this rubbish until it of course affects their team.

to do what?
Obviously you have never played the game. ☹️ How do you think the orange slices get to the players at half time. That’s the job of the Eric Dyers of the game. That’s why he will be in Gareth Southgates next England squad.Coz he is a versatile defender.

Fa Cup weekend - the chance for many clubs to be shown on telly and who do ITV put on - Spurs vs Burnley 🤷‍♂️ why

He missed the ball with his leading foot.
He was miles over the top but collected the ball with his trailing leg.

It’s a bad tackle typical of a CF but that’s no excuse!
I don’t think it’s a red but probably orange benefit of the dought, slo mo makes it look a lot worse but minimal contact.!

I think the player staying down didn’t help.
Can see why it was flagged but ref needs to grow a pair and tell VAR his on field decision stands.

It's not a bad tackle, it's just a tackle that clipped him with very little strength. All this hypoerbole is absolute rubbish imo. We all know what a bad tackle is that the player needs to be sent off for, see Gomes for Wolves today. These tackles are a yellow at the worst and really not that. We are not seeing an influx of broken legs and career ending injuries in football meaning we need to clamp down ever more. We are seeing the erosion of a contact sport meaning the only way to get the ball back is for the other team to either give it back in error or put it out of play.

You know these players get paid millions of pounds a year and roll round like babies, cheating, diving, going down like they have been shot and whining and bringing their job in to disrepute and half the fans are out there supporting them and cheering away until it goes against them and they get paid millions. It's an absolute joke and so to be fair there are the fans backing them in this behaviour, look at Arsenal whining about Saka, that bloke goes down easier than the red light district and Arsenal complain and the fans go woe is us then turn blind when they get these awful decisions.

Add in the commentators who are a joke, my son had the Spurs game on and I hear a commetator say this is being reviewd by VAR for serious foul play and a red card and going on about protecting players and then he said oh no action, maybe we are over protecting them. It was a joke, nothing to review and nothing the ref had missed and the game should have gone on but apprently anything and everything can be a mistake if Var want to be. Modern football gone mad.

You know the worse thing, if you took all this stuff away the game would be better and the best teams would still win the trophies. Anyone that thinks VAR is going to help a club win something that is not good enough to needs to have their head seeing to because it is not happening, in fact you could say it may prevent this happening with the way some of these decisions go for the big clubs..

I agree with most of what you say.

But imo that is a bad tackle.!
Hes over the top , but he’s lucky that he only just clips him.
Studs showing right in the middle of his lower leg,
