Most people would have interpreted his statement as a bit of light hearted fun.

I guess some think he was being deadly serious
His podcast has caused a few issues in the past with his lack of engagement of brain before speaking. Bad mouthing team mates, saying he wanted to leave the club etc

It's made him a target whenever he doesn't score

Personally I want him replaced by bowen up top with kudas brought in on right

Then it's a fluid front 3 of Bowen kudas and benrhama

It appears he didn’t back himself to miss a sitter when it was goalless 😂

He's a handful for most CB's but in reality he's utter NO. Big lump throws himself at CB's without any cards. CB's do that and its 2 cards, generally.

Thats the best team that Moyes has ever turned up at Anfield with.

I agree with both these statements

Antonio has only been so brilliant for us because he is unpredictable.. litterally nobody (even himself) knows what he is going to do.

He can score a screamer one second and then miss an open goal.

Tbh I'd rather bench him now and bring him on 70th min to run at tired defenders

As for the second part this team is boarding on something.. Emerson looks outstanding, Alvarez looks a find. JWP I've raved about all season and that's without mentioning the brilliance of Bowen and paquata

People were really worried about rice going..I never was. He was one player. I'd be more worried of Bowen going

And this kudas fella looks rather good. Can't wait for the next game

We have lost 2 in the league on the bounce to yourselfs and city. Both beaten by a better team but we didn't shy away. We fought until the end. It's great to watch

JWP is a crying little so and so though. 6 times today he was in the refs face sometimes running 20+ yards to speak to him.

I know you and others on here have moaned about such behaviour from others.

It was painful to watch I'll agree. However the ref was utter rubbish and didn't seem to let the game flow ...constant blowing up for nothing

But got to stop moaning at them. He isn't the captain.

Did he not win the ball? Can't completely tell from that angle, but looks like ball changes direction when he gets his foot there

You can "win" the ball and still foul tho. We have seen it given outside the box so many times for touching the ball but getting too much of the man

I think what is more annoying is the instant play on

If he had held his ear and stopped the corner until var checked it .. then fair enough

But the fact he didn't just makes it seem like they didn't even bother checking it

I'm not into the whole conspiracy thing but I will say there is bugger all consistency.. we have seen pens given for less

From that angle it’s hard to see if he got the ball first or the leg - certainly seen those given

VAR check everything even if the game hasn’t stopped , doesn’t need to have something on the monitor or stop the game but the VAR official will have looked at that - if there was any doubt in the tackle then he would have asked the ref to stop the game whilst they had a longer check

On this - I’ve noticed that refs already aren’t so card happy as they were in week 1 with players coming over to speak to them in numbers…

That lasted long

Like I said it's not so much it wasn't given its the fact play wasn't stopped at the corner to allow for a "check" just screams inconstancy.

Stop for 10 secs, check it and then it's like right they have least given it a fair look

Mate Alvarez cracked me up .. on a yellow, ref been picky all game and he sarky applauded Him 😂

It would have been checked - would have only called to stop the game if the VAR official felt there was a chance an error was made

It was so soon after that it seemed that it wasn't checked. IE corner was allowed to be taken straight after but normally they will stop and wait in ear then say play on in those kind of situations
