Other than from the start of the 2nd half, until five minutes after the Scotland goal, when England seemed to be off the pace and seemingly thinking the game was comfortably won, England were excellent throughout. Luckily they livened up and controlled the final 20 minutes pretty comfortably.

Bellingham and Dunk were outstanding and some of the crisp passing at high tempo in the first half was great to watch.

Ally McCoist summed it up.

Gulf in class, a step too far.

McCoist was very confident on Talk Sport this morning. Good to see he’s decent enough to admit that confidence was misplaced. I really like him as a broadcaster - he’s got a good future ahead of him.

Thoroughly professional performance from England. Bellingham is different class. Dunk was solid, and Kyle Walker just shows no sign of slowing down.

With John stones to return and dunk showing some class it has to be time for maigure to be left out now

Out of favour for his club

Build the dunk and stones partnership for next year

Next world cup will no doubt be stones and one other

Didn't see much of the game but your 2-0 up in a friendly and cruising and your leaving on Kane,Rice,Bellingham the first 3 names on the teamsheet we know what they can do. So perfect time to get Eze on sooner, Maddison Nketiah give them a run and a chance to show what they can do. Then we have Maguire on again, not Tomori!
DIon't understand Gareths thinking with his substitutions

Well, that was better! Agree with all the positive comments too.

Really pleased for Dunk tonight, he didn't put a foot wrong.

Disappointed that Colwill or Tomori didn't get a run out second half.

Just seen the interview from Bellingham and he comes across as very mature with intelligent comments at such a young age.

Without getting carried away it bodes well for the future!

Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Not seen a single kick tonight.
So reading the updates. Foden and Bellingham score, when I said them two and Rice should be playing and then Bellingham feeds Kane for his goal as I said he should be doing.
Then shock of shocks, Maguire who has not put a foot wrong whilst in an England shirt according to GS, actually sticks out a lazy leg/ foot ( according to the BBC) and scores an own goal.
The bit that makes me chuckle is that GS was still being defended by some on this forum before Maguire adds to his goal tally.

So let’s go back to before the game. We know what Maguire is capable of. Do we really need to see him coming on as a sub to show us exactly what ( apart from what we already know) he can or cannot do. Shocking decision from Southgate. Phillips gets a start so we see what he can do.I kinda get that. But I get that others should have a chance.
I am totally baffled by Southgates decisions.

So the comments and such about Maguire are a joke, according to Southgate.
Seeing as he said players would be picked on club form, surely Southgate is the joke.
