I’ll be surprised if Chelsea do - it looked like they were struggling to get a bid together for Caicedo due to finances and potential FFP issues - they can’t also spread the costs over the length of the contract as well

It wouldn’t surprise me if the bid for Lavia was purely as back incase there was issues with Caicedo

They applied the dressing there whilst on the ground and make the assessment there

3 instances I saw at the weekend the player ran it off going to the sidelines

as i said it’s only going to take one goal to happen during that period for it to kick off and it’s not the fault of the player or the team yet the team that caused the injury benefitted

But equally, why should the attacking team lose the momentum of their attack whilst what is clearly a minor knock it treated on the pitch and play is stopped. Sadly it cannot work well for everyone and so the one that puts a penaly on feigning injury at one extreme but also helps player welfare on the other is the one I would go for. If a team cannot cover their defensive duties for 30 seconds then really they should expect to lose.

Not necessarily the case. The injury may have been a pure accident, so there would be no "offending" team.

And, if there was an "offending" team, then presumably they would have conceded a free kick and maybe even got a yellow card. When play resumes, the injured players team will have possession. The team may just need to be a bit wiser in how they take the free kick, keep possession, don't play an attack that has a risk of a dangerous turnover, etc.

Hilarious that Liverpool didn't learn after VVD.

Trying to save 3m has cost em £10m extra.

If Lavia needs a lift I'll drive him up there, another player who goes with my blessing as his attitude stinks.

Hope he does an acl first game for wherever he ends up.

Whoa - that’s a bit ott isnt

Why would anyone wish a serious injury like that on a player

Coz he's a spoilt ...... I've no problem any player leaving us. Its happened all my time supporting us. Im realistic about our place in the market, but there's a right way and a wrong way to do so.

He had treated us appallingly, so I've no qualms in hoping his career flops. If hoping injury is too extreme, then I'll settle for his career falling apart so his ego is suitably bashed.

It’s being ambitious and wanting to make the step up is spoilt then they all are

As soon as a club that’s a step up comes in then players will want to leave - that’s been the way for decades - there isn’t many clubs at the top of the tree

He is 19 year old lad - and two of the biggest clubs in Europe are looking to buy him - it’s not going to be easy for him

The clubs have made bids for the player - what other way is there ?

He has two options. Show up, play and then leave when a club makes an acceptable bid. Like JWP, or refuse to play “my heads not right”, in that case, yeah sod him. Hope all goes wrong.

trying to use ambition as an excuse for a poor attitude doesnt wash. Same as when VVD threw his toys out, many have left us the right way and I wish em well, those that don’t, I would happily see em fail.

I very much agree with all of the above BUT what about if a player is really settled at a club, family are settled in the area, playing really well and a club decides to sell?

In reality, an employer will move you on as soon as it makes good business sense.

Is loyalty a one way street?

Delighted with our latest signing.

JWP finally unavailed. Always been a fan of him. Our set piece delivery has just improved by a mile

Ironically the weekend our midfield was decent but with JWP and Alvarez to add it's going to be some interesting games

Can't wait for him to appear on fantasy football.. straight back in the line up

Would again depend how its done, if the player is not performing then in any other world he'd be looking at the sack.
So if he's sold due to under performing the he should expect it. Much like a player playing well could expect a raise or a move.

So I'm that instance the club is doing the fair thing.

If on the other hand the player is being forced out because the club want to cash on and he is hounded out then I would agree the club are in the wrong there.

What da ya think is a fair price for him in FPL?

Fair price ? That’s minefield now and it depends on what the marker is

We got MacAllister for £35mil which is a bargain Imo where as £115mil is ridiculously overpriced

For Lavia imo £30mil would be a fair price for someone with 30 games experience at the highest level

Given that Haaland was only £14m, I’d say you’re miles out… :D

This is the game now though, it is not about value for money, those at the top funding wise are happy with player price inflation becasue it closes the door on more and more clubs being able to afford the top end players. £100mil has pretty quickly become the norm. Think what prices would have been paid if Haaland or Kane went for full market value. The next big striker move if the player has more than a year on their contract is going to push £200mil and with Saudi spending as they are, clubs know that they can tout their players over there is the big European leagues will not get the cheque book out. Clubs who have not got £200 million or more to spend each year now really need to be investing in their scouting networks and quite a few will be priced out of bidding for proven or established players.
