Fair enough. Google says he's worth £350m which sounds like a lot, until you remember that's three Chelsea bench-warmers.
£350 million is a lovely amount of money, if I had that I would definitely enjoy spending it.

However, apparently the PIF who own Newcastle is worth around £320 billion. Sheik Mansour at City is worth $21 billion, and has a family fortune of at least $1 trillion (figures from a site in August 2022). I guess if I had that amount of money, I might as well do something like buy a football club, or another country. Otherwise I'd never be able to spend it, and I'd just have a lot of wasted money sitting around in my current account :)

Agreed. Past a certain point the number doesn't really matter anymore. It might as well be infinity. That reminds me, must do my lottery ticket.

I wouldn't bother with the Euromillions this Friday, I'm going to win it ;) . I'm not going to buy a football club afterwards though, the fans will get grumpy at some stage, ungrateful lot. I might buy a golf course, small membership so I can always get a tee time, short par 3's, raised tees, proper bacon in the butties, plenty of it as well, the important things . You would be welcome to play it (y)

Book me in for a tee time Monday morning LT, oh and I need a buggy.

Please don't leave it in your current account, they pay rubbish interest rates ;)

Tell me about it, quite topical for me at the moment. After leaving fairly large sums in my current account for quite a few years, and some in an old ISA paying about 0.07% interest, I've just been too lazy to look into it (especially as I have no money going into a mortgage anymore). I bit the bullet a couple of weeks ago, and opened an ISA and 2 savings accounts. Took about half an hour in my Barclays App, and have worked out the annual interest should pay my golf membership and cover a lot of the food and drink I have there every week.

My mate said he knows a guy that invested £3,500 in cryptocurrency, and that investment is now worth £800 million. I quite fancied that sort of return, but realised I know nothing about it. If I did, with that sort of rate of return, I would be frontrunner to buy Man Utd off the Glazers. I could then come on here and tell you all how my negotiations for Harry Kane are going, and my opinions on Daniel Levy may well appear on the Random Irritations thread :)

So Messi and Benzema are now both going to Saudi Arabia , Benzema getting £350mil

But Messi - £1.2bn !!!

Just disgusting levels of money being thrown around by them

You would hate it. Members telling you how to mow grass, moaning when you up the price of a coffee from 75p to £1. The club vegan wanting a bacon free bacon roll. Old people raising discrimination cases against you when you tell them that buggies are banned due to ground conditions and they cant use their personal ride one devices thus unfairly preventing them from playing. Folks continuously moaning that WHS doesnt work. Folk wanting the hole made bigger so the game is easier. Folks telling you the rules are too complicated. Locals (non golfers) who raise objections at local council meetings when you submit plans to improve local sporting facilities that would have a positive impact on their house values. Folks chaining themselves to a tree that you want to cut down because it is dead and dangerous.

Nah. Not for me!!!

Well, anyone complains and they would be barred for life 😄. No democracy at my club.

Maybe you are right though. Perhaps I'll just be a member of a couple of clubs and then play wherever I want when I want. Green fees will be irrelevant if I have that much money. @Norrin Radd , now that I'm not buying a golf club I feel slightly guilty so I'll join you, I'll pay your green fee, and buggy, at your course of choice. Breakfast is also in, obviously 👍. I'll message you on Saturday after my winnings have been confirmed.

On football matters, in case anyone moans about thread derailment, Conor Coady is up for grabs at £4.5m. A steal for any promoted team, or a number of others. Surprised Everton haven't taken up the option on him.

Also the same manager with Anders Frisk as well
I have always admired Mourinho, everywhere he has been he has been successful. He is box office, i have always enjoyed his antics. But he's toxic when he is losing and extremely charismatic when he's winning. However, his behaviour last night was nothing but abhorrent. UEFA must throw the book at him.

Even more are coming out now

Should be throwing the book at the club as well

But Mourinho shouldn’t be on the sideline for a long time after this

I think his true colours come out when he’s under pressure. He’s a narcissist with thuggish qualities.
