The 'Fist Pump'

I've already explained what circumstances i find fist pumping offensive and which I dont.

Why would you want to go raging around waving your fist in the air? Do you want a fight or something? Cant you find another non-aggressive way to display your feelings? If its man against man a fist pump to me means your wanting some aggro and have stepped over the etiquette line. If youve holed your chip from off the green for a half I will say good shot mate , I dont need you to wave your fist in my face with a big snarl on your lips like youve just won the Ryder Cup

Absoulutly nothing against you jammy, and not looking to cause a fight or arguement but based on what you said above, I dont think I would ever want to play a round with someone who shares you views on this subject.

Couple of reasons spring to mind.

A) Sore loser
B) Misserable sod

I have witnessed quite a few decent shots in my time and have been known to share in the celebration of my oppos.
I would expect nothing less than a High 5 from Vig if one of us made a chip in or alike when playing pairs!!!

In that case I think I may have taken it out of context , maybe the 'fistpump' should be clarified. Is it a little girly one a la Henman or a big manly one a la Tiger and his multi piston pump

I have NO probs with the fist pump if youre playing medals and probs wouldnt get too upset if it was a litlle personal pump in m/p , I just dont want to see a big up and down several times and get in there my son you da man when your my opponent in m/p.

And no im not slightest bit a sore loser or miserable , in fact I try to make the effort to be exactly the opposite. It was just my opinion on one part of the pump debate and several of you have not clearly read my whole posts , no probs I'll just come round and give you some counselling

How do you feel if people shout "IN THE HOLE" for their playing partners?

FFS what's wrong with showing some emotion. How many of you have had an eagle?
When you do, what are you going to do?
Just casually pick the ball out of the hole, kiss the ball, look embarrassed, none of the above?

I have no problem with an oppo fist pumping, I may well have done it myself, TBH I couldn't tell you.

If I have an albatross i have already rehearsed my celebration. Bend pin and sing we are the champions into the flag. a la Freddie Mercury
