Suspect would have been more than happy to be involved in sealing the fate of Rooney's old club. Whilst disappointed to lose today would have hated to have seen us win and Brum survive.

Did you go the FA Cup replay with Reading in 1998?
A little surprised to see Brum go down. Looking good early in the season, and sacked the manager, John Eustice, when they were in 6th. Rooney brought in and lasted 15 games. Mowbray brought in but goes on medical leave for a serious medical issue.

Is it time to have the Premier League and Championship and the have a League 1 North and League 1 South? This is the map showing my team's opponents for next season;
in League 2. There's quite clearly 16 teams there that could go into the northern section and that's without looking at the League 1 teams. Have four relegation places in the Championship and have two promotion places from each of the regional leagues at the next level down to save on costs for the lower levels by reducing travel distances.

There's a case for that as even League One seems quite northern focused.
You'd get bigger crowds, more away support and not a real negative apart from it might devalue the league structure.

There was a historic north and south league back in the day. Anyone know why these were stopped?

It was only a temporary measure during the War years.

Makes sense. However given the precarious state of many lower league clubs is there an argument to reintroduce it. Less travelling for fans may mean more away fans (revenue) and having more local fixtures will re-engage some local rivalries and establish a few moreWW2 finished.

Anything that takes money out of the game and is of benefit to the fans is a non-starter sadly!
