The best moderatly priced balls?

I'm chucking my hat in the ring, If you can find a better value, better performing & better lasting ball than the Wilson Dx2 soft I'd like to know I've 2 new boxes of ad333's in a box which I won't tee up since finding the wilsons. Get 3 and try them, they are seriously good.

I dont actually think it matters what ball you use. It's all down to personal preference. Most of the ability in a ball is in the mind i think, well ok, maybe apart from the rock hard balls.

Personally i like srixon's, have convinced myself so, so will play better with them. I've just bought 2 dozen soft feel balls for £28 off direct golf, awaiting for them to be delivered.

The lake ball's mentioned earlier sound like a good deal too.

At the risk of being laughed out of the room does anybody play the Taylormade Noodles?

I previously only used NXT Tours but got given a pack of Noodles a few months ago and have not looked back (although I do have to put up with some stick :D )

A tenner a box! Magic!

AD333 in Orange

hard to lose them as they have a radioactive glow

Fragger :D

Is it grounds to dis-own one's Brother for using these abominations.........?????????

They might glow but that's no good in waist high Bundu! :D

Wilson staff FG tours , there is an ebay shop that does them for £21 delivered !!

JonBoy Mod-Bloke - are you reading this? After Blackmoor you could use a cheap source for these.

Beware - very easy to lose if you hit the R11 off the tee... :D

I put a thread on here last week asking for recommendations between the wilson dx2 or 3. Went with the 3 in the end, £16 a doz from online golf. Played one on Sunday and whilst my swing was below par the ball performed lovely and was stopping in my opinion quicker than my usual ad333 and seemed a few yards longer from the tee.

Outside of the summer I play them. There is less side spin off the driver for me, and once you get used to them on and around the green they are great for the price.

I prefer a Srixon Z star in the summer for the big comps

I like nxt tour, but they're not exactly v.f.m. at £25 when I think I got 24 dx2 for £27 i.i.r.c.

Don't even get me started on AD333. Great ball generally, but flippin hopeless in the summer.

Oddsocks gave me a Wilson DX3 Soft ball to try out.

They seemed to go a good distance and weren't too bad around the greens, even better when you consider the price he brought them for.

The NXT tour is a good ball that I use in the winter and probably comes in the premium price bracket so that is out. The Wilson is about the same price as the Srixon AD333 but better all round in my opinion.

I did tell ya their a good ball, and at £10 a doz from my source their under 85p each, spot on!

Another shout for the DX3 softs. A great ball at a great price. Decent length off the tee and they feel great to chip and putt with. My ball of choice.

Having said that, I was given a dozen Callaway Tour i(s) balls by Richart to say thank you for helping to organise the Blackmoor meet...thank you Rich xxx
I might well give one of them a bash at Tyrrells Wood today to see how I get on.
But I'll have a trusty DX3 in my left hand pocket as a "frightener" just in case.

Have to say I prefer the DX2 softs by Wilson, although the DX3 is getting a great write up here, maybe give them a bash.
Had been using Srixon Z stars but felt they were a bit shorter in distance than some others I had been using.

Actually smart arse, I was losing my TM Penta's at Blackmoor mostly

Wouldn't harm to stock up though :D

Why? I got sucked into a 2 for 28 quid deal on golfdirect for the AD333, starting to regret it.

I just called them and they've given me 19 quid credit for a mistake on a previous order so I'm tempted to get another load of balls for my mid range price ball test :)

So far I have:
Titleist NXT
AD333
Bridgestone E6

High end:
Titleist Pro v1
Titleist Pro v1x

Maybe some Wilson Staff DX3s perhaps.....

Where are you based - our local (Essex) Nevada Bob's has a seemingly permanent 3 for the price of 2 offer on Srixon balls. AD333 work well for me. If you are used to ProV1s try the Z-star.

Well I had a good test of the golf balls this weekend. 27 holes on my own, playing 2 or 3 balls per hole. My results were quite conclusive.

AD333 is average IMO. An ok all round ball but doens't do anything particularly well. Won't be buying any more of them.

Bridgestone E6 is fantastic. It really does straighten out your ball flight - it almost felt like cheating. Although I did feel i lost some distances with it....

Testing a few drives comparing the Titleist ProV1x vs the E6 was amazing. The Titleist on one hole actually went about 25 yards further. I'm sure I hit the ball slightly better but they both felt like decently hit drives so I reckon 10 yards or more of that was ball alone.

I think I'll stick to the E6 and ProV's for when my game is on.

Srixon Soft Feel is a great ball for the money. I use them from the end of September till March. Great ball for the money, good feel as well.
