The course was in amazing condition in early September considering the wet summer we'd endured, the fairways were firm, bunkers full of light sand and the greens running scarily fast, with the odd 4 putt rearing its ugly head.

I know the course is much maligned as a converted farmers field with only 2 memorable holes but I couldn't disagree more, apart from a few holes on the back nine I find the course truly memorable and a great test of golf. In my opinion its a course for strategic play with sand or water determining the majority of the shots to be played and although not long off the yellows, with very generous fairways, any shots out of position will make for a very tricky approach shots, if you were lucky enough not to find a hazard.

The course is very flat and easy walking with large multi-tiered greens, along with the well documented 10th and 18th holes my favourites were the par 4 6th with water both sides of the fairway and the par 4 16th which has a green tucked away on a plateau in the corner.

As much as I enjoyed the course I would baulk at paying the full rate of £160 and wouldrecommend booking a package deal which works out considerably cheaper. The pro shop is very well stocked with mostly high end kit, but some good deals can be found if you have a good look round and the post round snacks are reasonably priced, although £5 for a coffee was a bit steep.

I am a memeber of the belfry and played the brab many times. I dont know why it gets a bashing. Its ALWAYS in great nick and looms superb. However, for £160 I would expect holy willabooby to be waiting for me on the 18th with her boobs out.
