Thanks for the update! I have read in the past that green conditions in the 1960's and 1970's on the average golf course were not as short or as well conditioned as greens are today. I wonder if perhaps this method was better suited to greens when that putter and its method was contemporary? I know the material you shared mentioned Hubert Green. On Youtube someone uploaded the last 45 minutes or so of coverage from the 1977 Open Championship that features Hubert Green putting quite split handed...Arnold Palmer with a sweeping wristy stroke, Jack Nicklaus crouching over, Tom Watson putting looking well like Tom Watson putts today (!) Game has changed a lot since then for sure!
