That is week one of the Cambridge diet done. A few people were interested in how I am getting on with this so I thought I should let you know. Well I feel perfectly OK. Been a little bit tired at night but that is just my body adapting to the diet, but the tiredness has got less and less during the week. It has not been easy, but a bit of will power to get through that first week to get to weigh in day.

Well my counsellor has just left and I have got my first weeks weigh in. I have lost the mighty sum of 12 pound and 3 inches from my waist.....:whoo:

Rock on the Cambridge diet and it will not be long before I can get those pink golf trousers on again.

well done, big start, 3" is a lot, remember its how your clothes feel on you not the actual weight you are

I hope it works for the OP, but The Cambridge diet is a rather extreme starvation diet which takes you to the point of ketosis where you have metabolised all your carbs and start into protein. Not for everyone.

Cutting out beer, crisps, chocolate (or whatever your vice is) and doing some exercise is a better option for most, unless dramatic weight loss is urgently needed. 12lbs is a lot of weight loss, and too much for one week.

Yes Ethan I know it is very extreme in the first week but a lot of that is water. But I am drinking around 8 - 10 pints of water a day to prevent myself getting dehydrated . Also the Cambridge supplements that you have will give you 100% of all vitamins and nutrients that you are advised to consume, so in a way it is a very healthy diet. Yes I am in ketosis as I have swabs that I wee on every few days that turn a pinkish colour to compare to a chart to make sure what stage I am at. If I go towards the purple end of the scale then I have to stop straight away and seek medical advice.

Ethan my problem is that in mid September I got a type 5 AC joint displacement, so being a Doctor you know how bad that is. I only started back at work this week so have spent nearly 4 months not being able to exercise and do much to be honest. I have a very active physical job and play football twice a week along with the golf so never had to worry too much about what I eat, as long as I keep it sensible. I kept eating like this though while I was sat at home doing nothing and have put about 2 1/2 stone on..... So I basically needed to do something to get rid of it and I felt this was the answer.

We may have some disagreements on Taylormade golf kit in the past..........

But I do listen, appreciate and value your opinion on my weight loss due to you being a doctor.
