Tennis elbow

If it's tennis elbow, it rarely affects your ability to play golf. In your case, that dodgy swing is more of a concern!

Had it in my right elbow, took nearly 18 months to heal
Currently got it in my left. Had to bail out at H4H last year due to it but that's the only time it's stopped me playing although it still pretty painful at tjmes
Hoping, if it goes like the right side, I can play relatively pain free next year.....

Had it for 3-4 years now. Bad at the moment. Manageable most of the time. They are very anti injections now, unfortunately. The exercises they give you work really well for some, did nothing for me.

Don't think that tennis elbow is the Same for everyone. What works for one don't for another. I had it in my right elbow and it was agony. Not all the time but when it kicked in ouch. Exercises did a world of good eventually. I was told that you cannot have it in both at the same time, but when you get rid of it in one it can happen in the other. And it bloody well did. But I started the exercises early and it soon went. It never once affected my golf.
started getting a completely differant pain in my right elbow now. Hope to god it's not golfers elbow.

Had it due to me also having hyper extension of all my joints, and basically overstretched the right elbow and tendons when carrying my tools. Have swapped to a back pack tool pack now, so no stress on the elbow joints and everyhing has eased away.

Robster - What will they do for you? It is a few years since I was at the doctors / physio's and they just talked about doing exercises and cortisone was highly unlikley to be offered, hence why I have not been back even though nothing has improved. Where do they go now if the exercises don't work?

Had it last year and was agony for a while. Took 3 weeks off playing and did the following.
Bought some Voltarol and applied it a few time a day.
Bought a compression bandage and wore that throughout the day/night.
Bought one of those ice/heat ring things from Boots, stick it in the freezer for half an hour and put it on your elbow until it warms up. Stick it in boiling water for a bit and re-apply.
Did this religiously for a few weeks and it slowly started to clear up. Feels fine now.

Last time I had tennis elbow, had it many times, I couldn't play tennis for nearly three years. :( Reason I took up golf again as it was fine to play with. I could have been the next Fred Perry.

Have suffered from it a couple of times over the years, and yes it's bloody agony at times. Even picking up a cup of coffee hurts like hell if you do it wrong.
Last time I had a bout of it I tried all different things to help, nothing did. I had it for the best part of a year.
Could have been coincidence but I read about these and tried them.....

Tennis elbow disappeared within about two weeks of starting to take them.

did you try tea?

Well I've bought the pills, I'm getting very desperate. My elbow now has bruising and a red line running from the bruising and is very sore. Should I bother the doc's with this? Even, as it seems, they can't do nowt for you?

They can offer surgery if serious enough.
