Tantrums on the course

I tend to go very quiet rather than throw a hissy fit. Occasionally I'll throw a wedge or other club back at my bag and I do wish I could scream at times.

Great game eh?

Although never saw this - heard a story about a pay and play guy turn up at my home club and was having a bit of a shocker.
Hit his tee shot into the lake on the 9, didnt say a word whilst walking up the fairway, until he got 10 yrds from the lake, started shouting at himself and threw his bag into the lake and storm off towards the car park...........
within 5 mins he returned jumped into the lake, got his car keys out of his bag, climbed out and walked off without saying a word. - Really hope this is true!

Seriously.....most golf clubs that have a few lakes on them will have a story like this. It may have happened ONCE somewhere, but it can't have happened everywhere there is a bit of aqua.

No tantrum involved, but I actually witnessed this in an Open at my course.

Guy hit great drive up middle then carved Rescue into trees right (and beyond). Plays provisional and goes in search of first ball while the other 2 of us locate a ball left and discuss whether free relief (from staked tree). Sort that out, hit mine from the fairway and hook up with the first guy who is wandering around looking for his (Powercaddy) trolley. We eventually find it in the pond left of the green! He must have parked it pointing that way but left rheostat on. Clubs, wallet, keys, IPhone and goodness knows what else. Amazing how heave a Tour bag full of water can be!.

No tantrums here. but give myself a boody good talking to if i 3putt or miss the green with a wedge.

love it when my opponent loses it in a matchplay comp. very entertaining stuff

I do sympathise with the pros when they lose it tho, gota be tough under the spotlight all the time.

ex member at our place was a total loony. he duffed a chip on the the par 3 green, lifted his bag over his head and ran down the hill screaming, got to the bridge over the burn snapped all his clubs then threw clubs bag the lot into the burn. when he calmed down in the clubhouse he went back out to salvage what he could and someone had stole his trolley. he doesnt play golf anymore

The course is my chill out place, every terrible shot is followed by a wee smoke to calm down.

Thats why I roll 20 cigs before I start and most days there's not many left coming up the eighteenth.

:D Quality!

I had my moments last year but not lost my temper for a long time. I think its because I decided a few months back that I dont play or practice often enough to see a major improvement any time soon, but that my golfing life is still in the early stages and I've plenty of time to improve in the future, when there are lees things going on in my life, work, kids, work on the house etc, I just look forward to getting out on the course for a bit of R+R, and I think if anything that alone will help my game.
