Decided to switch suppliers. Found TOTOEnergy on Money Saving web site.
It promissed to cut £588 per year from my gas/electricit bills.
Switch over completed on 2nd December. On 4th December I get an email saying they are put up prices and my bill will increase by almost £500 per year and this will take effect from 2nd January. So I only get the cheaper tarrif for one month:angry:
Cheating so and sos.
Anyone else had similar experience with this company. A quick glance on line and it seems lots of people affected by this.
I must say, it is not a fix rate deal and I suppose they can legally change rates at any time but surely this is taking the p*ss.
I have already email and told them I'll be moving suppliers.

We had a 1 year deal with Avro energy that ended end of Nov and was transferred to their standard rate.
Went on Money saving expert and one the best deals was with Avro.
E mailed them and requested to go on the recommended deal and got it no bother.
Satisfied to stay with them for another year

I looked at changing (we were on the moneysaving expert collective switch tariff) but decided to stay with British Gas on one of their fixed tariffs. I was a bit nervous about changing to one of these smaller suppliers for reasons like you have mentioned, plus I spoke to a friend who works for Centrica. He said that if the smaller firm goes pop at any time then BG will take over as the default supplier, plus if the government do bring in energy price caps, which looks likely, then everyone will just price to the cap anyway. Sometimes I think you are better with the devil you know.
