right guys, i posted up my swing a couple of weeks ago and got some pretty decent feedback. Working on making my hands higher at address and trying to clear my hips better. The original vid is here:

Original Swing

Sooo ive been away trying to work on it and see if I can generate some better positions. My ball striking and accuracy recently has been absolutly rubbish!

Improved swing? or worse?

Any feedback will be helpfull! thanks

Thanks. I seem to have developed a cut from it now, not my usual draw shape. My follow through seems very hampered i think unless its from having a sock under my right arm

I would use the sock under the arm drill but not for full shots.
Just half shots.
Let your follow through go naturally towards the target (the sock will fall) and the fade should vanish :)

Bob - yer i see what you mean i actually hit a lot of half shots first but tried to get a few full ones on cam. Its quite hard to concentrate on keeping the sock in them letting it go on the follow through! I as struggling a bit with that. Do you think it has inproved my early release and hip clearance?

I like the new swing, the tempo looks fantastic. At such a low h/cap it's important to try and get some decent quality vids at all times, and one from the front if possible, it's not as if you're a hacker.

Out of interest do you actively try and get your hands past the ball at impact and strike down on the ball?

This picture is slightly exagerrated but shows what I mean... the angle of the right arm and clubshaft is still practically 90°

I see, il try and get better quality videos from more angles if i can do, i managed slightly better ones in the first video but rubbish in second thanks to youtube. I do try to have a downward stike on the ball and wen on grass i tend to take massive divots but what you described in your picture is a position i would quite like to mimic. from my video is it clear that i dont make this position? I think this position would lower my ballflight also giving me a more penetrating flight

You might want to relax your arms a bit they look tense at address and the left arm stays rigid straight in the back swing. Nice that you are keeping straight but I dont think you want tension either. I might be wrong, only you can tell if your arms have tension and the same applies to the grip as well. Really nice swing though.

On the left pic you have already lost your lag. At impact the angle between right arm and club is about 135° :D

Whilst I can't say what the perfect impact position is for your swing (everyone's swing is different) I personally think about hitting the golf ball when my hands are above my left knee... in reality it never happens as my left knee is turning out of the way so my hands are theoretically always playing catchup. For you it may be in front of your crotch or to the side of your left thigh or even forward of where I aim for... practice is the only answer.

The further forward you have the grip at impact the easier it is to stay in your spine angle, as it is you have to jump out of yours somewhat in order to have enough space for the club to be practically vertical at impact.

Hope that makes sense.

By no means would I suggest anyone attempt to hit the ball like this next pic but I made this picture to show how it's possible to maintain spine angle through the swing... I call this one 'stupid low'.... :D

Justone - your brilliant at this analysing malarcy! what your saying is exactly what im trying to work on. Im struggling big style with my early realease which is why i was hitting balls with the sock. I cnt seem to find any drills that will get me into the position consistently so i can at least feel what its like

LOL... I made a couple of vids for someone a while back to try to get them to 'feel' the way the club comes through...

I wouldn't recommend trying any of the shots I play as i'm a professional stuntman!

Golfstick, if you want to learn how to hit down on the ball as James does, here's a simple drill.
Place something behind the ball (headcover or similar) about a foot and try and hit the ball without hitting the headcover.
Without worrying where your hands, knees, hips, elbows etc are at anyone time, you will feel how it is to hit down on the ball
