Supplementary & Matchplay

Could I hand in a supplementary card after a matchplay tie as long as I holed everything out?

No...for exactly the same reason you can't play medal and Matchplay at the same time.

Rule 33-1 covers it in case you need a reference ....here is the extract:

Certain specific Rules governing stroke play are so substantially different from those governing match play that combining the two forms of play is not practicable and is not permitted. The result of a match played in these circumstances is null and void and, in the stroke play competition, the competitors are disqualified.

CONGU Clause 21
21.2

An acceptable score for Supplementary Score purposes is any authenticated score over 18 holes
under Competition Play Conditions over a Measured Course in compliance with the conditions listed
in this clause. The format may be Stroke Play or Stableford.

21.6
A player intending to return a Supplementary Score is required to signify his intention prior to
commencement of play in the manner determined by the Affiliated Club.

can you have a supplementary score if there are preferred lies/temporary greens.

Preferred Lies are ok provided it is during the period 1 October through 30 April or if the Area Authority have approved an extension.

No more than two temporary greens are permitted.

That's a 'How the heck could you even consider the possibility of it being allowable!'

Good score huh?

Nope but playing a good bit better than my handicap just now and playing in a lot of matchplay ladder matches (non qualifiers) and therefore don't have a lot of time for supplementary rounds.

NQ strokeplay golf has much less pressure than qualifiers (which is why social golf is not qualifying).

If you are playing matches how do you know how good your score is in relation to handicap? How do you count concessions or the last few holes when you have won or lost?

Foxholer , I can assure you if there was any way that Virtuocity could reduce his h/c he certainly would, he's as keen golfer as I've ever seen, also a nice lad, [ a bit hairy in places  ]
