I keep reading on here that lots of people use different balls in the winter. When do you decide that winter has finished and it's time to get the summer balls out?

I suspect that what a lot of those people mean is that they play with pretty much anything during the winter when there are no competitions and the greens are like rice pudding. Once your comps start and the greens firm up I think it's then time to revert back to your ball of choice.

I will start playing my regular ball basically when balls stop plugging in the rough. At the minute I just play pick ups.

I play the same type of ball all year round. Might not play a brand new egg in the winter but it will be the same make and model.

once its warm enough for shorts, my summer balls are out;)

Once the temps drop regularly to below 10 degrees I'll swap to a lower compression ball.... my winter ball of choice is the Bridgestone Soft Feel which are a bargain at £20 for two dozen.
