Summer Holidays

We’ve got flights for Portugal for end of July, not booked accommodation yet but not very confident we’ll be going.

Got France booked for end of June. Not giving up on it just yet, but very doubtful. Fortunately have only paid for the villa so far and if necessary, can claim it off the insurance. (Insurance company have sent out "guidance" and we meet their given criteria. Phew!)

was talking to a member from St Georges over the weekend.
They want to move it back a year - RA totally against that, as its the the big one at St Andrews.

He thinks they now want to try and play it without spectators - can't see that happening personally, you still have all the logistics of getting players, tour trucks, staff etc to Kent from all parts of the world in only a few months - who knows if a lot of restrictions will be lifted by then.

Aren't they now talking of moving it to September?

We're supposed to be going to Majorca in June but fully expecting it to be cancelled. Booked with Tui so if they cancel it we get a refund.
We were going to Cape Verde end of May with Tui, all paid for long time ago. No refunds from Tui, only rebooking allowed is what they have told us. So we have, for 1 year later:)

We've got Madeira start of June. Jet2 haven't cancelled flights yet but I'm sure they will. I hope they do as I see the prices have more than halved.

We're due to fly to Turkey in the middle of May, with Tui, from what I can tell they are allowing you to move the holiday, but you pay the difference - I'm hoping they refund as we'll use the money for a couple of trips later in the year, including a trip over Christmas. If they don't refund and we have to postpone, we'll push back 12 months and the little one will have to miss at least a week of school what I'm not doing is pushing it back to the school holidays and paying twice the price!

I read they can move it back a year, as it's the 150th playing of The Open, rather than the 150th year - not sure if that's correct or not.

There are a few doing this which I think is very deceiving of them. To begin with saying you have a year to book is not right as the government have not lifted the restrictions yet, so at the very least it should be a year from when they are lifted. Plus in a lot of cases you will end up having to pay more or the property is not available. We fell into the latter category as although the company we used to book a cottage said you can move it up to 12 months, once you take out school term time and the fact the cottage is booked solidly already, there was literally one week available in the next 12 months out of school term time, and we can't do that one. So they get to keep the money. Rob dogs.

The option of refund appears to have been removed. They are giving you the option to take something else up until Octoberish of next year I believe. We just booked where we were going this year, but a week later. Slight increase of £40, but I can live with that....I definately wasn't going to pay much more than that though. You do have the complete catalogue of their portfolio, but I wouldnt hang around as already things are being booked up.

We’ve got Tenerife booked for mid July. I can’t see this being over by then, and even if the restrictions have been lifted we don’t want to go. There’s a good chance I’m going to furloughed in the next couple of weeks too so doubt we’ll be able to afford it anyway. We stand to lose around a grand if we choose to cancel it ourselves. Will see how things pan out and hopefully get it moved to next year.

Will it not depend on what the Government advise is at that time - currently they are refunding any holidays booked during the no travel zone which runs to 16/04 I think, if this gets extended then surely they'll have to refund?

From what I can see of them, the refunding stopped after a certain date. Seeing as Tui are German owned what our Government decrees is probably worthless, since we decided we don't like them any more;)
We took the view to amend our booking as the portfolio they have isn't just Brits only, and seeing as most of Europe is in the same boat to hold on would have probably reduced down the chances of us getting the booking we wanted and for the price we wanted.

We're due to fly out to Alicante 31st July for 2 weeks in Torrevieja. Will it happen right now I have no idea and not keeping my hopes up, but it would be most welcome if it does.

My June cruise is definitely off, my July Cornwall holiday is pretty doubtful and I hope our September Cyprus holiday is ok. Still waiting on The Open ??
Cruise ships havent been great advert for Covid-19

Wonder if the cruise industry will ever be the same again?

Booked with love holidays, who originally booked flights through Thomas cook. Flights have since been changed to American Airlines.

Pretty sure we get a refund/voucher if it’s not our fault.
Main problem is the family aren’t keen and want a swap. This I’m pretty sure I’m not covered for
Did you get sorted with this Dave?

Mrs Slime has a cruise booked with her mum for the end of August.
It's on the Braemar, the one that was refused permission to dock in The Bahamas due to five passengers having Covid-19.

No mate, still in limbo. From what I found AA are only changing flights booked from March 1st to the middle of April.

Love have a form to fill in on the website. Filled it in,with the hope of changing the date to June 21. Was generically rejected.

Until they open themselves up to talk (Sounds easier than actually is, need more government guidance etc etc..) then we just have to assume things are going ahead as planned ??
