Such a brilliant day - The Brabazon...

I see the dress codes states 'Tailored shorts may be worn with knee length stockings' Trouble is I don't have any suspenders that go that far down though, so will I be let on?

The shorts rule really gets me, you can wear the most ridiculously coloured trousers ever created by man but shorts without the correct knee length stockings is not allowed

Little aston would be in great condition this time of year because they hold the open qualifiers there followed by some senior tour. Great course. Wish i could get in

Trust me, having played it at various times of the year it is never in bad nick.

Doesn't get enough traffic to be in poor condition.

So how on earth would you become a member there and how much is it?

I suppose if you have to ask...

Normal procedure for a Members' Club; proposed and seconded by existing members who will have known you for some time.

£3,200 burning a hole in my pocket and I'd pick Woburn over Belfry any day of the week. In fact there are many courses around that are top notch that I'd pay good money for before the Belfry. Little Aston would be right up there

I was told by my chiropractor who is a member that it's unlikely a fireman like me would make it to the interview stage. He also said the members have to pay extra fee's when the club needs things such as irrigation repairs, mowers and a new roof to the pro shop. He basically got a letter this year asking/demanding for £1100

A club that discounts members based on occupation wouldn't be a club IMO worth perusing

It's why I didn't peruse membership at Ashridge - they had that same sort of thinking there

+1. I do think my 11 plate astra estate would be an eyesaw in their car park

Yes......just go dressed as a lady :D

I think their actual fees are comparable elsewhere but joining fee if you get in is pretty steep however it's the type of place where if you need to ask then you probably can't afford to join.

Lots of wealthy people are members, they really don't want just anyone in.

That said, I played as a member guest and found the whole place very welcoming. Food was superb.

A step up from a Peugeot 308 :D

That's why I liked the feel of Ricks club - Centurion

It is obviously very exclusive but not one single bit of airs and graces about the place with every single person I met that day ( including one of the owners ) extremely welcoming and pleasant

To think clubs turn there nose up at Fireman and ex armed forces is a disgrace in any era. Let's hope they fail and go bust ay!!!

Dave me, you, Ant and Mark should roll up at Little Aston and ask for a round

I Think marks mohawk might be a decisive factor in that one

All joking aside, if clubs like Little Aston do have such a snobbish attitude then they may well find themselves in trouble in the near future as membership continues to dwindle.

I think that's the exact problem Ashridge will have soon - they are extremely sparse on the ground with people between the ages of 30 and 55

Unfortunately not. Their members have an open check book. The club wanted to increase their members by 15%. But the members decided to pay a undisclosed additional anual fee instead
