Woke up today and decided to see what was on offer on Tee Off Times. Saw the PGA at the Belfry was on offer for £40 instead of £80 so booked it. Thought it was strange that I never received a confirmation email but carried on to the course anyway.

Long story short, turned out that Tee Off Times never booked us in and the PGA was now fully booked.
Was about to leave as we didn't want to play The Derby when the chap behind the counter said he'll just have a word with the manager.
Came back and he said if you're willing to pay another £20 each we'll let you play The Brabazon as it's pretty empty!

So we did.

Wow. What a course. It was simply magnificent.

I went round the front 9 in 49 and I shot 105 overall (still a beginner) and to top it off I found 4 Pro V1's in mint condition!

I'm glad you had a good time and the brabazon haters will be along shorty. As a belfry member i am sorry to hear that your pga tee time was not delt with correctly. Unfortunately the belfry staff "management " are as much use as a chocolate tea pot and this thing is all too common. I really doubt that the cock up was " tee off times" fault.

Its lucky the brabazon was empty.

Is there different levels of membership or can a member play any of the 3 courses you want?

Excellent deal!

I'm not a Brabazon 'hater' but I'm not all that impressed with it either. Beautifully presented and a few good holes (not 10 imo except for the memory of Seve) but pretty forgettable otherwise.

Glad you enjoyed it... What did you think of the 26 million pound refurb around the place?
The 26 million pound refurb winds me up dave. All that money and the shoe blower has been broken for almost a year and they've replaced the balls at the range from nike practice balls to srixon 1 piece rubbish tat

 You know yourself the Nike balls are great for a month then they are no good to anyone, the Srixon balls are fine and are better than you will find on most ranges... The shoe blower, yes that is a piss take but mate be happy with what you have, we are spoiled with our facilities really.

The balls are 70% distance balls. oh and roping off all the best parking spaces for the corporate folk and making us park a country mile away gets on my goat too!

Your barmy, they rope off the smallest car park on there and that is further away from the new golf entrance than the car park for us is.

This may shock you but at times the Derby has the fastest greens out of all three courses

They can be brutal!!!

Really, we didn't play it. For all the knockers it has I enjoyed the brabazon but will say it wasn't as good as the course I played the day before, Little Aston which was really superb.
