Stableford Handicap

Just a quick (possibly stupid) question. I play off 28 at the moment. I palyed a round with a friend the otherday and scored 40 points stableford. My overall shots played was 105 as i blobbed 2 holes. With regards to handicap as i scored over 36 should my handicap be improved? or as i scored 5 shots over my handicap of 28 does it stay the same? Sorry if i sound stupid but i am blonde!

Handicaps are calculated purely on stableford basis not medal basis so you should be cut based on being 4 better than handicap (1.6 shots) assuming that SSS and par are the same

If you have an official handicap and played in a club comp then yes, you should probably lose 1.6 off your handicap (assuming that CSS was 36 points).

Like the previous responses said, 1.6 off, so next time out play off 26...
