Just a query regarding stableford and handicap adjustments. Am I right in thinking your hc can be adjusted even if you blob a hole and don't bother finishing it?

same applies in a medal round too
I think it's the norm that if you blob a hole in a medal your score is an NR for the full round and 0.1 back.

So you could technically have a 14 on one hole but blob it and sign for an 80 instaed of a 90 if the hole in question was a par 4?
Right. I have never N/R in a comp, did not even know you could TBH
Keep it that way. Once you start to NR it can become an easy option if you are having a bad round. Mybe its the masochist in me but I try to record the best score I can on any given round even if that means just trying to beat 100. Went out in +12 in the medal yesterday and had no chance of winning but kept going and knocked it round in +5 for the second 9 and recorded a top ten finish in the division. You never know until its signed and handed in
You learn something new everyday!
I have been in that situation myself and didn't even hand the card in because I had a lost ball that would have meant going back to the spot where the shot was from and another group had teed off behind us.
even though you have NR to save the walk back to the tee etc, you can and should play out the rest of the round and return your card you may make buffer or even get a cut as the score is calculated in stableford points for handicap purposes.
