Indeed, yes.
Had a fitting last Saturday and spent 2 hours with the fitter.
Hit my 7 iron to get a few averages, then tried Srixon ZX4 and ZX5’s. Also tried Callaway Apex 21 and Apex DCB. In addition hit Mizuno Hot Metal Pro, but didn’t like that.
Although I thought I might end up with the ZX4 or 5’s I plumped for the Callaway Apex DCB. This iron on average gave me 9 yards more carry with the exact same loft as my present 7 iron. In addition the dispersion was a lot tighter.
I must admit that I can swing better than during the fitting, but I suppose that worked out well with the forgiveness on offer.
So my heart was pulling me to ZX4 and 5, but after seeing the numbers my head told me different and my heart did too.
In fact the Callaway’s felt the nicest, with a soft “hot” feel.
The fitter was top notch, so hats off to him. It was done by Karl at GolfWorx who is based out of Boldon Golf Club. He was very thorough and conscientious, nothing was too much trouble for him
