Pardon the gloating, but after missing out on a Bronze at the Olympics by next to nothing Gemma Spofforth has won gold in the 100m Backstroke at the World Championships setting a new world record in the process.

Good for her, but I can't help thinking this whole swim suit business has killed swimming for me. If it isn't drug taking, it is self powered suits. What ever next?

Totally agree, Murph, but in this instance

Fairplay to her for not going for the whole plastic suit thing, but the sooner they return to all lycra the better. At that point the best swimmer will win, and not the fastest suit.
