Hi,

I am looking to buy a new set of irons. I have seen a few sets that look reasonably priced so looked up some reviews. They have good reviews but very low spin rate compared to other irons.

As a new golfer, how much attention should I pay to spin rate? Will this really affect me much?

As a new golfer, and having read your other posts, I wouldn't be looking for any extreme of club a tribute.
Low spin rate may just be marketing speak for more distance!
What particular clubs are you looking at?

As a new golfer and assuming your current clubs are still of a reasonable quality and usable, I'd save the money at this stage and invest in lessons. Once you have a good foundation and the basics nailed down and can get it around a course reasonably well then you can discuss new clubs and spin rates with your pro.
