Hi guys I'm just wondering does anywhere do anything were I can book a solo session on the trackman just so I can go through my clubs and get distances for them all I don't want to have a pro in with me I'd just like to go in and use it myself or if not what others ways can I get my yardages other than hitting the range with a notebooks and pen
Cheers

That depends where you are, I doubt anywhere would allow you to use a trackman unsupervised with it being 20k and all. However there is a place in Manchester that offers practice sessions on flightscope. I wouldn't do it this way though I'd opt for a bag of balls and grass practice area.

You could always ask at a place that has a launch monitor set up. Chances are they'll want someone with you to supervise, but if you say you don't want a lesson, you just want to find out your swing numbers and your distances I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Not sure where you are based but I know that the glasgow indoor golf centre allows this facility.

Practice range and a DMD.

Ask your pro if he has a trackman and if so can you have a session with him purely to input your data, whilst I have lessons with my pro he had no problem in a session where I just hit balls to obtain feedback/data on each club.

complete waste of time.

you are going to have to adjust the distances for conditions, (temperature, humidity, wind and uphil/downdale) in play so the real issue is to establsh a couple of baseline distances - which you will get from the par 3s in a round of golf, or approach shots etc from simple observation.

You'd be better off using a GPS on the practice ground, doubt anyone would let you use them unsupervised

You don't even need to hit every club. A 5 iron, a wedge and maybe the driver. 15 balls each club, discount the mi***** and take an average of whats left. There is an online calculator somewhere that will work out all your distances for your other clubs. I think you only need to know the distance for one club on that and it works out all the others for you. I will see if I can find it later.

if your going to the bother of figuring out all the others, then I wouldn't trust a calculator. Do you have the same swing for all clubs? Does your set have a standard set of lofts that can be calculated? Do you hit your 3 wood/7 iron with a higher tee than normal, how does your tee shot vary from your fairway hit.

Basically if your serious enough to want to know the figures then you should be serious enough to put the time in to find out what the actual figures are.

IMHO ;)
