Played in the Bank Holiday Mixed at our place today with HiD (4BBB) and shot an indifferent 33 points and didn't hit the ball well or putt that brilliantly.

Cue 20 mins rest then out to play against 3 handicapper in the Scratch Knockout.....

And shot 73 , 2 over gross :) but alas lost 2 and 1

It was a great game with holes being won with birdies and on one occasion halving with them.

Young lad mentioned as we finished on 17 that this had been one of his toughest matches for the last 3 years and he's won it and been runner up once, so not so bad for an old grunter like me , ;)

I think 9 holes would be an ideal warm up.
I cant just turn up on the first tee, a few practice swings and then play well straight away.

I'd agree with you're thinking, I tend to have a better round sunday after the first 18 on a saturday.

Fairly sure this has contributed to my handicap shooting up! At my old course all the comps were on Sunday so would have spent the previous day on the course and practice ground, new course nearly all the comps are Saturday so have spent the previous day sat in an office!
