Hi guys,
Hope you all managed to get out over the weekend. I went and played a new 18 hole course on sunday morning (Blacknest). It was a nice course as it was challenging but for a beginner if you messed up a shot it didn't ruin the hole.

I was only firing on about 90% due to the evening before but managed to go round in 100. Quite an irritating score because it would have been nice to get under 100 but I am quite pleased with it anyway. The first time I played an 18 hole I got around 125ish so to be down around 100 after just practicing on 9 hole courses is good.

Hoping to get out again soon to try and break that 100 so I can start ticking the consistancy box.

well done on the round. I'm sure you'll break 100 very soon - although playing with a hangover probably won't help everytime! The one thing a hangover may have done is stop you worrying about the results so much and hitting your shots in a more relaxed manner.

I wasn't too bad to be honest as I was at a party from 3 in the afternoon and drank water till about 8. Got a lot of stick for that but it meant I felt pretty good the next morning.

I came second as one of the other chaps got 98, he doesn't drink so I think there is a very good moral to the story.

Well done. Beware though not to put too much expectation on breaking 100 next time out or everytime as that puts additional pressure on yourself and can lead to poor course management and trying to play and swing too conservatively

Nice 100 :)

Make sure you keep track of stats as well as scores (GIRs, FIRs, Putts, Up&Downs etc) so that you can see how you develop over the coming months.
