Smoking on the course

Never smoked either but have no issue with anyone that does. It is the summer time when the course is bone dry I do worry about as a stray butt could lead to seriosu problems. There are a couple of courses I know of that had small fires caused this way last summer

It's not something I've ever thought about to be honest which I guess means it doesn't bother me. If you want to fill your lungs with rubbish, that's up to you.

that is what I must be thinking of. Showing our age here a bit aren't we? Just for the younger people on here Russ Abbott did a comedy sketch show in the 80's.

And before that he was in a pop group, called "The black Abbots".

I smoke but not when I'm doing something. Dont smoke when I play golf, Painting(fine art), playing guitar. Only really when I'm watching tv or have nowt to do with my hands. I can take them or leave them I suppose.

russ abbott did a mickey take of it I think

Took me ages to find this!! I think this is the one you mean?

Nice thing was, part of it (the tee shot and the bus going past) was filmed off the 15th tee at Crowborough Beacon (anybody who has played there will recognise the road that goes across in front of the hole).
Don't know where the rest of it was filmed though (the bit with the trains).
I think Russ Abbot spent the day at Crowborough and played 18 holes there. He was/is a keen golfer.

No issues providing the butts are binned, not abandoned (rare that they are binned). Ditto for banana skins, which are just as bad. People chuck them any where, thinking they are biodegradable. Yes, they are, like fag ends, but bigger. And in the grand scheme of things, so are crisp packets, coke cans, golf balls, cars, buildings and nuclear waste. Some things just take longer to degrade.

Put rubbish in the bin. It is what they are there for.

Any where else is littering.

I thought firing the ciggie butt into the air just before you tee off was a recognised method to gauge wind speed/direction!

LOL....

But with my Motocaddy I can just let it take itself along the hole while I light one up halfway down the fairway. Also I can clip my Brolley into it and walk under that without getting my fag wet.... electric trolleys are a multi functional tool.

With my twinline 3 I can have the brolley up in its attachment and have the drawer (normally meant for tees etc) open to use as an ash tray, so I dont have to put my cigarette on the wet grass whilst playing a shot. It's amazing the thought that goes into designing some of these trolleys
