Just cancelled my subscription. Was on an "introductory" offer, that ended and I can't justify the cost. Shame, I enjoy it, but with the football season ending and a new baby in the house, my nights of watching golf are limited anyway!!

I think you will find that with a baby in the house you will be watching more tv than ever before and at weird and wonderful hours :D. Your social life is now goosed and if baby wants to wake up at 2am, so do you.

Nah sod that, Sky only really show Liverpool anyway. I just have a dodgy stream subscription for 50 quid a year and then I can watch the matches I want in HD along with everything else. If UK Sky was like German Sky where you have all the 3pm kickoffs to watch (I realise its the laws fault and not Sky) and you can swap the sound to the stadium noise when one of the idiot commentators on I would consider it.

No binned it mid contract. Best tip to bin it is tell sky you are moving into a rented property and landlord refuses to put a dish up on property. Worked for me and mate did the same last week and worked for him. I watch all sport now on my fire stick. And best bit it's free

Every 6 months my wife asks if we need Sky Sports. I rarely answer now, I just stare at her until she agrees to get on the phone and argue for a reduced rate again.

The big issue for Sky is that their whole business plan is tied to the sport. Without the sport, football in particular, the whole company collapses. That means they absolutely can not afford to lose the football. If anyone serious comes in for that it will terrify them.

Also if you have all the gear there in working order. They might aswell get a fiver a month from you than get f all.

This is why they reduce your rates when you go to cancel..

I used to work for them.

Also if you really want a good price cancel it end of. And then you will start getting a call or letter in the post offering you 6months half price then it will go to 12 months half price. These would be sent to you via the win back team. Guys that job is basically to win back customers.

Things might have changed a bit from them days but am fairly sure they are using the same things to get customers back.

Last thing they want to do is give money off so will offer extras like movies for a quid a month. For x months. Then things like 10% off etc.. but the real deals come when after your 30days cancellation is up

Have done for a number of years but seriously considering getting rid due to the ever increasing cost. One thing for certain is that when we downsize (due to retirement) in a few years we will not renewing Sky unless the cost is about £20 per month.

Might wait until Twin Peaks on Sky Atlantic has finished before I dump it. Seriously considering as don't really watch much at all on Sky these days other than a bit of golf and an occasional series - and I can get as many of them as I need on Netflix.

No. We don't even have any TV package at all, just freeview (and a smart TV that we can watch Netflix or YouTube etc on). However, if Spurs are on Sky Sports I log into my dad's SkyGo account on the iPad and watch it through that. But still, if I wasn't able to do that I'd sooner watch it down the pub than pay the huge sums demanded for Sky.

No

I have a now TV box, I buy a pass when needed. This week cost me £10.99 for 7 days, I watched The Players, F1 and football, not bad value. I won't buy another pass until something decent is on.

as this approach. Two young kids, golf to play and other hobbies mean I watch very little TVs and so just chose when I need to. If I want a short golf fix, I find a mark crossfiled blog more interesting than a hour or two of some random tour event anyway.
