What a shame. I'd rather watch the BBC coverage than have to pay for Sky and watch adverts every few shots.
CBS are strictly limited in the number of adverts they can show per hour so hopefully Sky will have the same restrictions. Not that it matters to me though, since I cancelled Sky Sports last month. :(

Well, sort of. Called up and got the same offer as you chaps, so I'll by £3.00 in credit next month and £22 a month after that.

BUT, during the phone call, it was bought to my attention that I'm paying for multi-room. Something I've not had for TWO AND A HALF YEARS!

I questioned them and got put through to an english guy in Customer Services who said I have to write to Sky to request a refund/investigation so they can listen back to the call where I originally wanted to cancel it. I've been in my new place for two and a half years and have never had a phone call from sky to say "we can't get a signal from the phoneline from both of your sky boxes can you please tell us why" (multi room requires both boxes to be plugged into the phone line to stop people giving their extra box to their mates). And I've told them numerous times that I only have one sky box in my new house and we can't use multi-room the way it's laid out. Needless to say, I'm fuming and will be even more fuming if I don't get the £250 refunded!

Robbing barstewards!

At least I have cheap subs for 6 months (until I call them again and get another offer in 6 months :D)

Does everyone think that Augusta can keep calling the shots in the future. They should be applauded for their tight controls on advertising etc but does anyone see a day when the PGA says, enough is enough, and threatens to remove the Masters from the majors list unless they start cooperating a bit more with TV and sponsors?

In most other sports this would have happened long ago.

I personally don't think the Masters should be a Major anyway. It's a spectacle yes, but as a Major it's Mickey Mouse.
The same course every year, Mickey Mouse greens, old farts playing who shouldn't even be there.....
The only good thing about it in my opinion is that it heralds the start of another golfing season.
Take it off the Rota

As promised...
I phoned SKY on 08442 414 141 3 mins later...result. :)
Half price for the next 6 months a saving of £153. That's the full movie/sports package for £25.50 a month.
As I had already paid for Sept/Oct, they will credit me for next month's bill so for Oct I will £10 and £25.50 for Nov and Dec, a saving of £92, handy for Christmas :)
Dont just sit there.......... :D

I think it might be time for the Masters to be taken off the major list but what do you replace it with? What has the tradition and history. I'm sure there will come a time when the Commissioner of the tour gives them some sort of ultimatum about opening it up, TV schedules etc and it'll be interesting to see their reaction

Leave it alone. After the Open my favourite major. Usually get a close finish, and Europeans have more chance of winning at Augusta than at US Open and US PGA. No i haven't forgotten McDowell, Harrington and Kaymer, but they are the exceptions over the last 40 years.
