wonder why they insisted my address was a sky customer- maybe just down to the idiot on the end of the phone.

Thats useful to know Greig, means it's contractually legit then.

What would happen if you and your Mrs separated and you were the original account holder? She wanted to continue with sky and you quite rightly wanted to cancel in your name when you move out.

I think Talk Talk's TV service carries all the Sky Sports channels but I might be wrong, and from personal experience, they are a company to avoid.

Other than that, you could opt for Sky's NowTV box with the Sky Sports add-on, but it is pricey for the weekly pass, around a tenner a week!

Another option would be to use the Sky Sports Mobile TV app on a tablet or smartphone and connecting to a telly. It is a tenner a month for the four main Sky Sports channels, but it would rely on you having a decent mobile signal and plenty of data allowance unless you connect it to wi-fi.

I used that argument with the call centre 'person' who said SKY would transfer the contract to the new name ensuring continuity of service. As Greig says, maybe just their sales/retention teams way of keeping business stats good.

I pay for hd multiroom, but in truth upstairs it sky plus hd, but down stairs it's a ten year old plain sky box with fuzzy vision. They will give me a new hd sky plus box, no worries, but to change my set up requires an engineers visit, which is hundreds. I've not bothered yet. I can't justify it, despite effectively paying for it!

I have just come out of a sky deal so my monthly bill has gone up to £82/month which I class as too much. I have also just found out that I can now finally get fibre optic broadband in my area. So I was wondering if anybody knows of any other options of fibre broadband and being able to watch the PGA golf in the evenings.
looked into BT infinity and they only offer sky sports 1 & 2 and most of the golf is on sky sports 4 !!
any help or advice appreciated as my children are desperate to get fibre broadband as on normal broadband the max speed we seem to get is 1MB !!
Once my Sky contract finished I moved to BT Infinity for phone and internet(they do deals), then negotiated the Sky package I wanted, best of both worlds, and with BT Infinity I get BT Sport for free on Sky Box for 12 months,
Only extra I paid for was the Sky wireless box to connect Sky package to Broadband
