Shoe care tips

Do you have any? I found the thread on irons usefull and having just spunked out a few weeks back on some white Nike lunars I really want to keep them looking there best!
Be it for cleaning or even anything to offer more waterproofing just incase.
I love these shoes they are so comfy so might treat my self to a black pair for winter

I clean (well HID does) all my white shoes with baby wipes once the mud has dried. I pack them with newspaper as soon as I get in if they are wet and leave them to dry naturally for a few days. I do use clear dubbin on them but only once in a while and usually after I've worn them for a good while as it does make the whit a little bit duller but still perfectly acceptable

I sponge down with Luke warm water and if the shoes still need a clean use leather wipes followed by fj white wax polish - avoid whitener like the plague

Baby Wipes also clean alloy wheels amazingly well. Dried in brake dust just wipes off. They are the best all round cleaning thing ever.

Don't let the mud dry on the leather, wipe off with sponge or baby wipes.

Also clean the soles with a soft brush.

Dubbin is fine on black or brown leathe but can dull down white. I use FJ polish in either clear or white.

Newspaper inside with soak up any moisture and shoe manufacturers recommend using a shoe tree.

I never wear the same shoes two days in a row either.

Two people I know use Whitener regularly and I'm impressed with the results.

Another guy uses Furniture Polish which works even better!

I just blow mud/grass off and allow to dry naturally. Will probably get some whitener though.

For white shoes I use just a bit of warm soapy water followed by shoe cream and/or clear polish (FJ is good) then spray with a stain protector/waterproofing agent like Kiwi Aquastop or Clarks Protector.

I just wish they sold more plain black shoes, so its easy to just scrub them up with luke warm water and brush, let them dry then polish them with trusty kiwi.

I have looked at so many manufacturers and only managed to find a couple that do plain black. White take too much looking after............ I suppose that's why the sell them so we need to replace them more often
